So, I'm taking my Dad to see Tony Bennett in concert.....

Postby steveo777 » Fri Jun 07, 2013 3:54 pm

As an early Father's day present I'm taking my Father out to dinner at a steak house, then to a Tony Bennett concert, where we will meet his fiancee, whom he is marrying in August.

I think he's shocked that I'm doing this for him and I'm shocked that he's getting married again! LOL
He's 73 and probably in better shape than many men in their 50's. It should be a great time!

Has anyone recently seen Tony Bennett live? I guess we'll find out if he still has the chops.

I honestly think Johnny Mathis sings circles around Tony. Of course, as he is black and gay, I doubt you'll be going to one of his shows any time soon.

I don't know how he sings...but I am glad your getting precious time with your father. Regardless of how he sings that is the best thing that will happen that night...time with your dad. :D

You're wrong. I like Johnny Mathis. You''d probably think, for the same reasons you stated, that I woudn't go see BB King either, yet I've seen him a couple times. Some black and gay people are talented. I also like that brown guy who sings for Journey. :D

I've seen Tony Bennett a couple of times and thoroughly enjoyed his show. He may not have all the chops of his younger years, but he still puts on a powerful show. You and your dad will have a great time!

Cool! I remember my Dad taking me to my first concert and years later I took him for his birthday. We have been to several together and it's a great way to spend quality time. Like this, me and my kid go to a lot of concerts together and it doesn't get any better than that!
