Any watchers?
For me, the best show television has seen in years, if not ever. It really threw me that television could be that good. Bryan Fuller put together a stellar production. The emotional investment that Hugh Dancy has to give every week is pretty phenomenal.
Laurence Fishburne has stepped it up the last several episodes and has had better dialog. Early on I thought they were under-utilizing him, but he's had a couple choice scenes with Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen lately.
Spoiler - but not much. Someone said this finale was particularly good because you got to see "Will" deal with not only what he didn't know, but now the truth. I thought that was a perfect observation.
I'm a big fan of the books and the movies, so I was not sure how this would sit with me. After the end of the first episode, I really liked Mads as Lecter and after a couple shows I was entirely engrossed by Hugh Dancy. And by episode four or five, I knew this was about the best fiction I've seen on TV.
The downside - watching TV like this has caused most other shows I like to pale, to fade out. Nearly every commercial for new stuff now looks entirely stupid. More so than before.
