I noticed that Bun E. was not with them, but rather, Rick Nielson's son, Dax was on the skins. I saw today that Bun E. is suing the band. What a shame, I hate to see it come to this, because I think Bun E. was/is a beloved member of the band--wonder what went on behind the scenes in the last few years?

Bun hasn't drummed with them since 2010, at least. I thought he couldn't due to health issues. Now it seems it's about money, which sucks. I never thought I'd read this kind of story associated with Cheap Trick. Bummer.

Cheap Tricks set times are generally limited due to being on multi act bills and playing in casinos where 80 minutes is the preferred show length.

The issue is not about money. It is about creativity. Bun E Carlos did not want to do the types of show the band wanted to do. A 2nd run in Vegas of Sgt Pepper and the Dream Police residency. Bun E wanted to tour as they had always done and make new music. The band had reached an impasse and Bun E could stop them from moving forward. The three remaining members offered to pay him as a full member going forward and Bun E would be included in new recordings and could return at any point. That is why this was so quiet for 3 years. Then the band stopped paying him and then started recording without him. Now he is going after them for breaking the contract.
