All Romo haters can suck a fat one. I've got faith. We would've lost by 30 without him, in my opinion.

Was pulling for the cowboys. Would have been interesting if either defense decided to show up.

Ok, let's inject a healthy dose of reality into analyzing the Pats/Cincy game...first off, INJURIES do matter. Wilfolk is out, and The Law Firm ran roughshod...Amendola is still hurt whether he played, or not. Vereen is out, Gronk is out, and Hernandez is a felon. At full strength NE wins this game in a fucking cakewalk....Cincy scored 13 points....woooo....what worldbeaters they are...lol

Last few years NE hasn't been at full strength when it mattered. Welker was out in 2012 against Ravens, and Gronk was about 30% in the 2nd NY superbowl...especially in the SB. Gronk is at 100%, Brady has his 4th.

Cinci outright won that game and they played far better ball. Cinci is a good looking team this year. This may be a weird way to describe it, but even with the wins the Patriots seem disinterested.

Listen....when those 3 defenders become ANYWHERE close to the talent of Wilfork, and Gronk....let me know. Brady has NO weapons on offense, save Amendola. He has less to work with than the 3rd SB. Usually, brady can work with ANYBODY. Receivers aren't where they are supposed to be, and Thompkins and he aren't on the same page as far as reading defenses. There was one play in the 3rd or 4th quarter where Kenbrell did an up and IN - Brady read it correctly, throwing it to the left pylon, would have been a TD cause he would have been wide open. Brady has no weapons.

So Denver/Jacksonville spread the largest in NFL history at 28. Will Denver cover the spread? I say absolutely. 48-7

The best QBs usually figure out a way to get it done despite this stuff. Brady will likely do so eventually also.

From what I've seen of the Pats this year, and I'm not trying to be insulting, Brady has gotten lucky. His offense sucks, but at least his defense has improved. But he HAS no true dependable wideouts.

Perhaps Brady should run the Wildcat. He could probably catch passes from his WRs and RBs better than how things are right now.

It's prolly safe to say Aldon Smith is gone for the season after today.

49ers' Aldon Smith charged with three felony weapons counts
http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nf ... n/2955645/

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith was charged Wednesday with three felony counts of illegal possession of an assault weapon, stemming from a party at his home in June 2012.

The Santa Clara County district attorney's office said in announcing the charges that Smith is expected to surrender on his own later this month. The 24-year-old Smith is on an indefinite leave of absence from the NFC champion Niners while undergoing treatment for substance abuse at an in-patient facility following a DUI arrest Sept. 20.

"We've been aware of the incident, the serious nature of it. We're all accountable for our actions, good and bad," 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said Wednesday. "There's a process, due process, that will take place. I don't feel any need to comment further on it."

When asked whether Smith — who set a franchise record with 19½ sacks last season — would play again this year, Harbaugh said only, "I don't have any need to further comment on it."

On Monday, the coach said he had traded a few text messages with Smith, saying, "Heard that things are going very well, very positive reports back."

If convicted, Smith could face up to four years and four months in jail, the district attorney's office said.

The preamble to the assault weapons law states that each assault weapon 'has such a high rate of fire and capacity for firepower that its function as a legitimate sports or recreational firearm is substantially outweighed by the danger that it can be used to kill and injure human beings,'" District Attorney Jeff Rosen said. "California's prohibition of these powerful weapons is not about hunting or target practice. It is about interrupting the long history of death, carnage and grief assault weapons have inflicted on California communities."

Smith also is likely to face a suspension from the NFL, perhaps pushed back to next season or after his legal issues are resolved.

The 49ers issued a statement Wednesday.

"The 49ers organization is aware of the recent developments with Aldon arising from an incident at his home in 2012," the team said. "We recognize the serious nature of this situation, as does Aldon, and will continue to monitor it closely. As this is an ongoing legal matter, we will have no further comment."

Last month, Smith and former teammate Delanie Walker were named in a lawsuit filed in Santa Clara County Superior Court by a Northern California man who said he was shot at a party at Smith's house on June 29, 2012.

The players charged a $10 admission and $5 per drink, the lawsuit said. Smith and now-Titans tight end Walker, 29, were allegedly intoxicated on Smith's balcony when they fired gunshots in the air while trying to end the party, the lawsuit said.

Before the 2012 home opener last September, Smith was the passenger in a car during an accident in Santa Clara County in which the driver swerved to avoid hitting a deer. Smith sustained a cut beneath his right eyebrow. He apologized and insisted he had grown up.

Smith, selected seventh overall in the 2011 draft out of Missouri, had previously been arrested on suspicion of DUI in January 2012 in Miami shortly after the 49ers lost in the NFC championship game.

He is on the reserve non-football injury list while in rehab, and there is no NFL minimum for number of games he must miss while on the list.

Smith played in a 27-7 home loss to the Colts on Sept. 22 and had five tackles just two days after he was arrested and jailed on suspicion of DUI and marijuana possession. Smith apologized for his behavior after the game.

I almost feel bad for them. The NFC East went from powerhouse to laughing stock. WTF?

As a New Yorker-- and someone who usually roots for the Giants (and Jets)-- I probably shouldn't feel this way, but I'm at a point now where I'm kind of hoping the Giants just lose the rest of the season. I found myself yelling at the tv yesterday, "Go on, Eli, throw another interception!" And he didn't disappoint.
I guess my dream for a Jets Vs Giants Super Bowl will have to wait til next year. Again.

I don't. We got NO mercy from their fans in '10, when we were having a horrible year....even though we'd WON a game by this point.

From NFL.com:

One of Adrian Peterson's children is in critical condition at a South Dakota hospital, Peterson's father confirmed Friday.

"We are asking for prayers and for respect for our family as we deal with this tragic situation," Nelson Peterson told Sean Jensen of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Peterson missed practice Thursday, but returned to the Minnesota Vikings' facility on Friday.

"I should start off by saying I really appreciate all the support that I've been receiving from fans, the Vikings organization," Peterson said Friday afternoon. "This is a private matter, and I would ask you all to please just respect my privacy and not ask at all about the situation at hand. Thanks."

The Argus Leader's Stu Whitney first reported the running back was in Sioux Falls, S.D., on Thursday, dealing with a "very serious" medical issue "involving (a) young family member that likely will be a police matter." Sioux Falls police spokesman Sam Clemens told NFL Media on Friday that a 2-year-old child is in critical condition after sustaining head injuries on Wednesday that appeared to be consistent with abuse. Joseph Robert Patterson, 27, was charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery of an infant, Clemens said. Clemens said Patterson was in a relationship with the child's mother.

Peterson said he will play on Sunday.

"You know, football is something I will always fall back on. It gets me through tough times," Peterson said. "Just being around the guys in here, that's what I need in my life, guys supporting me and just being able to go out and play this game I love. Things that I go through, I've said a thousand times, it helps me play this game to a different level. I'm able to kind of release a lot of my stress through this sport, so that's what I plan on doing."

We send our best wishes to Peterson and his family at this unimaginable time.

I hope the dipshit that did this to the kid gets his just desserts in prison.

With that said, it's quite perplexing to me that (if true), Peterson never even met the kid before he was on life support. If that really is true, not exactly a candidate for father of the year. Unlimited resources, a lot of free time in a sport with a long offseason, and he didn't manage to buy one plane ticket to SD to go see the kid once in two years? Also explains why the decision to play seemed pretty easy for him.
