But it's Brees. Had that hit been on someone like Palmer, it wouldn't have mattered. lol

I hope Crabtree doesn't return Monday night. I don't think he will. It would be cool to see him come back on a Monday night game, but not on that shitty field in Washington. The NFL should be ashamed that any of their teams have a field that bad. With all the money the NFL has, it's totally unacceptable.

This is what I don't get...Why is it illegal for defensive players to touch the head of an offensive player but offensive players can stiffarm a defender right in the jaw and it's a perfectly legal play, unless they've changed it, which I'm not aware of?

Dunno... but watching the hit over only reaffirms that it was a clothesline. Brooks had both hands on Brees chin, pulling him down.

I'd assume a stiff arm to the mask would be a penalty, but I'm not familiar enough with that rule.

Clearly the league is on a path to protect the QB's.. and at least from a business standpoint it makes sense. The owners simply don't want to drop millions in guaranteed money on QB's who will only demand more up front if their potential tenure is shorter because of the potential injury from vicious hits.

I think in 20 years football is gonna be radically different, if it's even around. Even Bret Farve has said he wouldn't allow his son (of he had one) to play. That kind of sentiment will eventually cause a decline in kids playing football..

The owners will continue to chase players though.. don't forget the NFL has tax exempt status.. owning a team can make an owner quite rich.

Not sure what play you were watching. They way I see it is there is no way to tell which way a body is going to turn or how you are going to be push. But I know every ounce of training says that when you have hold, don't let go for shit. The initial hit, and therefore his intention, was 100% legal in any book. The fact that he got turned and Brees went down a certain way is downright unpredictable. I agree the NFL is going to call it now because it's gotten ridiculous. Doesn't make ti right and that play was not at all the definition of a clothesline.

Just my opinion, but in this case a correct one. :)

Apparently, Brady versus Manning still draws them in!

http://itiswhatitis.weei.com/sports/new ... -17-years/

PATS-BRONCOS HIGHEST-RATED PRIME-TIME NOVEMBER GAME IN 17 YEARSSunday night’s Patriots-Broncos game on NBC posted a 17.0 overnight rating and 28 share, making it the highest-rated prime-time November NFL game since a Steelers-Dolphins game in 1996.

The rating peaked at 17.9/34 from 11:30-midnight, during the game’s closing minutes.

The game is the fifth-highest-ranked game in the eight-year history of Sunday Night Football on NBC, excluding NFL Kickoff games.

Denver had the highest rating of metered markets with a 48.2/71. Boston was second at 37.3/59, followed by Providence at 30.2/46.

The rating was a 26 percent increase over last year’s Season 12 Sunday Night Football game between the Packers and Giants.

I think he was thrown into the deep end before he was ready. He has talent...but he needs a veteran to study under for a couple seasons...

What fucked up WEIRDNESS. You have Suisham fucking up the cadence on that FG attempt (which was a huge difference) and Tomlin pulling those shenanigans. I'm still not sure if it was intentional, but it sure did look like it and I didn't like it AT ALL. It seems like every time the Ravens beat us, they have atleast one big KR and special teams becomes the difference.

Disappointing to see the Steelers not ready for the longball. It's obvious the heave is the only thing Baltimore has in their weaponry worth defensing. So that was highly upsetting to see it done early and often when we had to of known it was coming. I know I knew it was. Great game.

The Tomlin thing was flat out bizarre. I probably watch enough NFL football to be medically diagnosed with a "problem", and I've never witnessed a coach do something like that. I agree with Travis that it sure did look intentional, but I'm not really sure I understand what Tomlin's angle was. I mean...was he really going to try to impede Jones' progress (which I guess he did)? Why not just tackle the guy? Goofy shit. I didn't have a dog in the right and REALLY enjoyed watching the game. Great game to watch (although, I could do without all the brawling after every third play). I will say this...I am on a ridiculous roll picking Steelers games this season. If I pick them to win, they win, and if I pick them to lose, they always manage to lose. Now, if I could only figure out the rest of the NFL teams

Jones should've given Tomlin a good stiff arm to the middle of the back and sent him flying.

If I remember correctly I think if there was sideline interference the runner is granted an automatic TD.

With respect to the Manning vs. Brady debate, there really isn't one. Manning is 7-10 all-time in the playoffs; Brady is 19-8. Their career QBR are nearly identical - 96.8 for Peyton, 95.8 for Tom. Given that Manning had at least one All-Pro wideout his entire career, whereas Brady basically had one for three years (Moss). If Manning wins the big one this year, then it's a dead heat.

Looks like Tomlin's sideline move might cost the Steelers a draft pick...

Kaepernick actually looking like a pocket passer today... but it is against the Rams..

So, you think with that playoff record, it's a "dead heat"? Really? Have you even watched Peyton in the playoffs? Not only is his playoff record AWFUL (and make no mistake...based on the talent Peyton has played with....it is fucking AWFUL), he has been THE REASON his team has lost many of those games! Listen, I'm admittedly biased. Having said that, before Brady won his second Super Bowl, I had Peyton ahead of Brady. Now that Brady has actually won three and played in two others, it's simply not close for me. Peyton is a great regular season QB, but that's about it for me.

Another win against a team with a losing record. But Kap seemed more patient today. Good to see Crabtree back.

You realize we're on the same page here, right? My point was there can't be a debate until Manning wins another one.

So now we're 9-3. Denver is 10-2. The impact of the horrible blown call(s) in the last minute two weeks ago that cost us a win against the Panthers cannot be emphasized enough. That will wind up being the difference between having to go to Denver instead of forcing Manning to travel to New England in January.
