Thank you to all and surgery news

Postby artist4perry » Fri Dec 13, 2013 2:15 pm

I just wanted to thank those who supported me after my back surgery this summer. I have to say I am still a little sore, but all in all much better than before. I used to be in constant pain before the surgery. I felt so good today that I actually danced a little jig today in the house! LOL I am not going to tell you it was an easy recovery. It was quite painful and I had to have my daughter come and help me for the first two months of recovery. I am still waiting for the doc to tell me the last graph between my bones has grown a new bone, but that will wait to be seen. Right now I walk pain free. I cannot tell you how wonderful that is...PAIN FREE. To live for such a long time unable to do normal things. Thanks again for the kind words, prayers, and thoughts my way. I am glad to be able to do things normal people do again. I actually got a lot of housework done today! :D

Thanks Marabelle! I am glad I got it done. It is slow healing but it will be good to be able to do things again. :D

My brother had back problems this year. He was given the option between surgery or therapy. He couldn't afford to miss a month of work, plus the surgery success rate was quoted at around 50% or so. Suffice it to say, he chose therapy.

But that said, glad to know you're on the 50% side where you're on the mend.

I am doing a great deal better...when it hurt to sit, stand, lay down, or walk my quality of life was pretty low. I am now being able to do some normal things again...I am glad to have done it this summer. I feel I can give more as a teacher now too. Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement. I have not been on here a lot...some due to healing, some due to my computer being goofy as of late. I miss talking to a lot of you. Many of my friends here are on Facebook and I hear from a lot of you over there. Miss some of the debates on here though. I love watching the banter on the political stuff. Same arguments different day! LOL
