Yesterday I flew from Minneapolis to Los Angeles. From the time I boarded the plane until I got to LA, it was a 100 degree temp change. 120 with the wind chill. For those in CA, a wind chill is where it feels cooler than it really is due to the wind. :)

-22 when I left MN (-42 w/wind chill), 80 in Los Angeles. I feel bad for my wife and kids in that cold.

We've finally gotten back above zero in Chicago. Never got above -13 yesterday, with wind chills in the -40 range. It's been unreal.

My connecting flight was in Chicago. Took us nearly an hour to get to a gate because of the frozen fuel lines and such. Fortunately my connecting flight was delayed that same hour and I was able to make it. Heard a lot of people talking there about how they were stranded. I felt very lucky to pass through mostly unscathed.

You were very lucky to get out of Chicago. Many flights have been cancelled the past few day, and lots of people spent the night on cots at O'Hare.
