I think it's almost entirely derived from the Miller TDKR suit.

I admit I was expecting Lee Bermejo's version to be this one, but that one looks very "fabricky" (though his art is amazing) and I don't think that would translate well to the screen.

What I think would've been killer: the Arkham suit, which looks armored but different from Nolan's. But this new suit is cool, because it's Miller's. And the Batmobile looking fucking amazing.

Kinda looks like the love child of the Adam West Batman and TDKR Bane.

Well, v, after all these years, as a diehard Big Blue fan, today at my LCS, I respectfully put TDKR TPB back on its shelf, like I did many times before, but then picked it back up and actually bought it. I know this book revolutionized comic books into the 90's and the influence is highly still regarded in today's industry by how comic books are written as a reference point, but I'm eager to see how I react once I actually read the script in how Miller interpret's Supes right off of the pages itself. I'll enjoy it for being as legendary as it is, but I'm prepared to be a little PO'ED once the BatGod strikes.

I read it when it first came out, and that event was to the comics world like Nolan's trilogy became to superhero films: "the most talked-about thing in DC ever." It easily set trends and influenced many other stories, including Frank's own.

It's not my favorite Millerwork, though. That goes to his original concept, Ronin, which has also been recently optioned. Ronin predates TDKR by several years, but the art is vastly better. TDKR is where Miller's Sin City style was born. He began swapping out intricate details for heavy blacks as he embraced noir. His soon-to-be-if-not-already wife Lynn Varley's colors enhance his style tremendously.

Miller's work on many issues of Daredevil is where it all began, before he shifted over to DC. He blew my mind with that title. DD increased in popularity to the point a couple issues outsold Uncanny X-Men. That was a big deal back then!
