This is my favorite of the first three singles. I liked all three a lot but this one is both beautiful and haunting in a very emotionally moving way. And the vocal here is incredible. The Voice is still here. And again the lyrics could have multiple meanings which is very cool. I feel like that kid hearing Escape for the first time again except I appreciate this even more. Traces has the makings of a masterpiece!

Glad I was wrong. Like TNC said emotions all over the place and that guitar solo probably one of the best I have heard in a Perry solo song. Perry's best vocals so far, and all those layered harmonies.

Perry's gonna need a choir behind him if he tries to do these songs live!

Same here. Kept thinking that liking two out of three isn’t bad....then i heard the complete song. Fantastic return to music and am hoping he takes it to another level on Sun Shines Gray. And oh yeah, he can still hit the high notes.

Wow, how tastes are different. So far, I'm least enamored with this one. That being said, the chorus has a good hook and the lead guitar is better here than on the other tunes. For me, the 2nd release is the best of these first 3.

I agree, this is a fantastic slow song . I'm still trying to figure out how they got the brother from "My Name Is Earl" to play bass in all the videos.

Thus far, Steve Perry has released three singles with an Album drop( which I ordered, signed) in October.
Thus far, the most recent release is the best.
'' We're Still Here".
I got the chance to listen to it through earphones and to me, his vocal ability is way above what one would think.
He has more "rasp" in his voice, but he's able to control it.
He sounds very much like his "Street Talk" (Oh Sherri) vocal days.
Having said that these songs are NOT "Journey sounding" at all.
They reflect a matured person who has experienced Loss and has invited you into his life to hear what he has learned.
They are "layered" very well, and he fools you with what you're expecting and what you hear.
All three songs have multiple meanings and a sense of HONESTY that's missing in todays artificial "music".
So far, this Album is Grammy worthy.
You should listen to this through earphones/buds
It's the best new music I have heard since the 1980's
And Yes, "We're Still Here".

My favorite so far, too. I agree with you that his voice sounds much clearer and less raspy on this one, leading me to believe it was recorded later than the first two.
