It's been 25 years since former Journey singer Steve Perry got in front of a camera for an official music video. The singer broke that streak on Friday (March 22) when he released the visual for his nostalgic ballad "We're Still Here."

With Perry behind the wheel of a classic black 1970 Chevelle vowing to heed the call of the night, the clip finds the singer cruising by a series of iconic Hollywood locations as he watches the Hollywood streets come alive.

The video from Perry's new solo album Traces is his first one as a solo artist since 1994's "Missing You" and first official video since Journey's 1996 track "When You Love a Woman." It was directed by Myrian Santos (Common, Andra Day) and in a statement Perry said the feel of it was inspired by the same emotions that drew him to co-write the track with Canadian producer/songwriter Brian West.

"Brian and I had just started writing the song and were sketching it out in the studio. When we broke for dinner I went to this place down the street, and that was the first time I'd been in Hollywood in a long time," Perry said. "There I was on Sunset Blvd. and Hollywood and Vine just walking around. I saw a whole new generation of 16 and 17-year old's running around just...alive. And through these kids I felt a kinship. We're still here doing the same thing." ...
Perry's good natured bonhomie & the world’s most charmin smile, knocked fans off their feet. Sportin a black tux, gigs came alive as he swished around the stage thrillin audiences w/ charisma that instantly burnt the oxygen right out of the venue.TR.com
