You won't say that if you heard him at the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Benefit. His rendition of Silver Bells was FLY! As in stone.cold.off the hook GOOD!

The dude is the best to hit a Neumann, there is no doubt! It just kills me to see him go into grandpa mode. I get it but I'm not a fan. Rod Stewart has done it (it sucks, he used to be bad) but I get it.
Brad Delp had the hardest deal and dealt with it appropriately. He brought in help to hit the high notes back on the 86 Tour to keep the music in the original key. Fran did a great job, Brad acknowledged him and it was a great show. Steve and others could take note from this.
Steve's voice is the best ever, bar none! I'm just not down with the grandpa songs. I want to rock still, even if I'm old.

I think we all want to hear some harder edged songs,
But when you add them up you get,
Dont Fight it
Strung Out
Don't tell me why your leaving
You Better Wait
Listen to you Heart
and Sun shines Grey.
Wish I could add Lost Angels but it never was released.
So thats 6 out of 40 songs.

So thats 1.5 per song per album.

Mariah Carey put out a Christmas CD years ago when she probably was in her 20s and no one called her Grandma or Rosemary Clooney. Although it is a high compliment. I think it is one of the highest grossing Holidays CDS sold If not the best ever sold. I always think you should play or sing whatever sounds good to you and he's hearing Christmas Carols...then I'd love to hear it. I would imagine if that's what is in your heart during the Holiday season and you can sing it like it should be sung...then I will add it to my Christmas rotation of songs.

its really weak, 2 songs... Silver bells and Have yourself a merry Christmas he sounds like a lounge act on these, its just not good and i'm a Perry fan.

Well, Delp could still sing in the original key, just not the highest notes. He could still sing the majority of the songs in the original key, and only needed help for the really high parts.
Perry can't sing anything in the original key now...in fact, some of it might need to be tuned down 2 steps, not just one. Which is not only because of where his voice is today, but a testament of just how high some of his stuff was.

That's WAY more than 1.5 song per album.
