Trump lost by enough electors last time that getting that many to go the other way is unlikely (though not impossible, I guess).

The walk-out scenario will not surprise me one bit. He can't compete in a battle of facts.

Yeah. Pretty fucking awful.

This guy summed it up well for me -

Honest thoughts about the debate:

Losers:
The American people
CNN
Fact checking

Winners:
Right wing media gets to show video of Biden looking old

Normal media gets to show Trump lying 500 times/ready to coup again

Performance:
Biden: low energy honest straight forward answers

Trump: high energy insane nonstop lies for 90 minutes

Check back again in 2 weeks when Trump is sentenced to prison

This reminded me of when Obama debated Dole, not even close...except Trump just rambles on about anything, making shit up as he went along. Biden sounded so hoarse and you could hardly hear him. Biden could make some good points but since you had to really concentrate to hear and understand him, it was irrelevant. When he stumbled to find the word "Medicare", I knew it was going to not go well. When Trump said, "I did not understand his last point, and I don't think he did either." I thought Trump was going to start attacking but he held back. Definitely not the way I thought it would go. The Democrats may lose to a crazy anarchist and that is very scary.

A volcano of debunked bullshit versus a feeble old man who takes too long to complete a thought.

It's embarrassing that these two are the best we can do.

For all his talking, Trump could not actually give an answer a single question.

Biden tried to answer questions, but kept getting tripped up on his own words and mixing things up.

We're fucked.

With the immunity ruling, I'm not so sure about that. It seems we are now electing Kings.

If I had the resources, I'd retire and move out of country. Seriously.

Well, it's not a guarantee that Kamala will get the nomination...it is really up to the delegates and how they vote at the convention. Since they are all Biden delegates, you would think they would all vote for whoever he endorses...but they are not required to. I wish there would be one national "primary" day to decide party candidates. Then get rid of the electoral college and have one national election where the candidate with the most votes wins.

I'm still not confident that Trump is going to lose. Biden should not have ran and opened it up for someone new. If that had happened, I am not sure Kamala would have been the Democrats choice...I did not like her in the 2020 debates.

Just a few days later and you are right.

First, it's pretty obvious that Kamala is going to be nominated. The electors can still do whatever they want but it sounds like enough will fall in line to get Kamala elected.

But, yeah, you can tell MAGA was NOT expecting this. There is so much crazy shit going on that "normal" people are going to ditch the crazies...at least I hope so. I am still not confident that Trump will lose...it is a long way to November and many things can happen between now and then.

For the love of God, how can ANYBODY vote for Trump. What the hell are people thinking? This debate is absolutely crazy.

Vote for Trump or Democrats will eat your pets.

Fucking crazy shit.

This "debate" is only half over....Trump is soooo triggered. He has no answer for anything except redirecting to the border....which, BTW, Kamala baited him into from the first question. This guy is nuts and he is acting like HE was released from a Venezuela asylum. Just crazy, crazy, crazy. All the while Kamala is calm and steady, being direct in answering the questions, and making attacks that land hard, and she twists the knife once in a while.

If this ends the way it began, I predict that Kamala gets a big bounce and easily wins the election.

I spent more time laughing during that debate than anything.

Sweet lord, he is a petty, self-worshipping individual. Can't complete a thought to save his life. Can't stay on topic. His mind is like a squirrel.

She did some "typical politician" moves...a little vague, a little massaging of the facts, a little embellishing...all to be expected.

He was just an angry old man in clown shoes.

Listening to him talk is infuriating, he’s either telling outright lies or he’s hurling childish inappropriate insults like a spoiled toddler. The shit coming out of his mouth was laughable but also scary considering how many idiots in this country truly believe that sewage.

Wow, I love Caitlin Clark. She is one of the best basketball players I have ever seen. After Michael Jordan did his final retirement, I lost interest in basketball...it just wasn't the same for me. But, Caitlin Clark is so fun to watch and has a such a down to Earth personality and does not make everything about herself as so many other famous people in general. It also doesn't hurt that she is from Des Moines and I have heard about her since her high school days and she went to Iowa which I have always been a fan of. But whatever...I would never critique her for politics, regardless of what they would be. I find it ridiculous...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jfb1bHNr4wk

And, yeah, TYT isn't exactly unbiased...but the story is the story.

All she did was like a post...no ranting, no preaching her political views. Just a "Like" and a comment in her press conference that people should go out and vote. That's it. To be all mad about that means you were never a fan in the first place. Her fanbase isn't as big as Taylor Swift's, but it is still in the millions and significant.....so her "platform" does matters.

Also, Iowa is now within 4pts in the latest polls...no longer solid Republican. Hmm, wonder if that is just a coincidence.

I didn’t understand it at first until I started digging around more on my own and this is very concerning stuff. Trump can deny this all day too but anyone with a working brain knows he’s knee deep in this movement.

What’s more…Trump could give a shit about anything inside P25. He just goes where the minions are. They promise to back him, that’s all he cares about.

Yeah, shocked to say the least.

I just hope the American public don't live to regret this. I suspect you will and I know that he will have a negative impact on the rest of the world, but I know the majority of Americans are very insular and really don't give a fuck about anything outside their backyard.

I've never known such a repulsive blowhard to appeal to so many people. I am absolutely lost for words.

You guys did it, but we all have to live with it.

The entire history of the US is people outside migrating and "setting up shop" here. Unless you are a native American, YOU are a product immigration. It is also the history of this country that the latest wave of immigrants are demonized and discriminated against...whether that be Chinese or Irish or now Latino. It is those who are insecure and weak who fear immigration and protective of their own status in society. The exact same things that are said about those crossing the border today were said about the Irish immigrants in the late 1800's...almost word for word. It is simply an issue being misrepresented and twisted to trigger emotions and gain votes.
