If there were no gag order, I would love nothing more, especially recently, to open up. I have no resentment or bitterness anymore but if anyone's gonna sugar coat things to make them appear picture perfect, I don't want to be the one shown in the wrong light. I pride myself in being the best person I can to everyone around me, always, even when the grey clouds are cast. But that's a good one, this new 'revelation' about me, great read!

Regarding Jeff Scott Soto
'Jeff did a great job, he came in got us through a US tour and got paid very very well for it' .'But personality wise he was not right'. 'After we asked him to leave it got nasty and he decided to sue us'
Now this is news. A different take on a controversial event. A gag order, for whom?
Pretty interesting if you ask me. Guess the people that claimed he wasn't a good fit for them weren't that far off after all. Didn't realize that he sued.

No wonder Perry wants nothing to do with "Journey Mach II"
Neal...also, if you read this. PLEASE, do something about your current guitar tone.
Too PROCESSED!!!! Go back to the "beginning" and plug a darn LP DIRECTLY into a Bassman or a good Marshall and turn it up!
You sound your best doing this.
Now...go work on your personality will ya?
I agree about the processing, although I do think he sounds a lot better live. A Bassman, given Journey's output the last 20 years? I don't know about that. Journey needs a little more gain than that I think now. A nice Marshall or even a good vintage voiced Boogie would do him well though.

Yeah...maybe. He could "boost" the front of a Bassman and get away just fine with it. I really just meant "clean up" all the effects and get a tone we can actually hear what he's playing. He rips, everybody knows it...I just want to hear it in it's "raw" "unprocessed" form.

exactly love this post......and if jeff is sueing them it's probably because neal tried to screw him out of his contratc and jeff got smart and wanted to be paid in full!Nothing wrong with that people do it everyday!Citygirl wrote:It seems Neal proves again and again what a dickhead he is.
I know the music should be separate from what the person does outwith it, but this shite really puts me off Journey.
I just see them as a joke these days... you can't go through that many singers and be anything other than a joke. 2 singers - okay I can understand that. 3 is pushing it slightly. 4 is just stupid. And that is not counting the singers before Perry cos they weren't really big then.
These guys have no sense of loyalty to anyone.

This is my Last post on the Journey board, I'm moving down two forums, that's as long as Deb's there (I need a sidekick!)

I didn't see that JSS said the quote was inaccurate about him suing them.

Classic Rock wrote,
Shortly after the 06 Monsters of Rock Journey played Sweden rock, it was here that an eagle eared Scandanavian sound engineer speculated that Steve Augeri might be lip synching. When quizzed on this again Neal said' Y'know, people get in trouble and they do what they gotta do to get throught shows' Augeri had serious problems with his vocals,he had a yeast infection in his throat that was incurable.'He couldn't get the gunk off his throat so he couldn't get anything out of it'
So Journey were atually trying to bolster up Augeri by the use of extra added vocal assistance shall we say?
'No comment you will have to talk to Augeri about it,this is such old news'
Regarding Jeff Scott Soto
'Jeff did a great job, he came in got us through a US tour and got paid very very well for it' .'But personality wise he was not right'. 'After we asked him to leave it got nasty and he decided to sue us'
Makes for intereresting reading Neal goes on to talk about Arnel and how they will write together in the future and how Steve Perry 'Wants nothing to do with us,its been like that for years' regarding any thought of a reunion.

that comment strikes me kinda funny....Jeff is widely known to be one of the good guys in the biz....Both with musicians and fans alike.

There was no indication of anything but a lovefest in LA October 06.
