Gotta give Neal a pittance of credit for not demeaning his fans intelligence by offering an outright denial of TapeGate.

It seems Neal proves again and again what a dickhead he is.

I know the music should be separate from what the person does outwith it, but this shite really puts me off Journey.

I just see them as a joke these days... you can't go through that many singers and be anything other than a joke. 2 singers - okay I can understand that. 3 is pushing it slightly. 4 is just stupid. And that is not counting the singers before Perry cos they weren't really big then.

These guys have no sense of loyalty to anyone.

If there were no gag order, I would love nothing more, especially recently, to open up. I have no resentment or bitterness anymore but if anyone's gonna sugar coat things to make them appear picture perfect, I don't want to be the one shown in the wrong light. I pride myself in being the best person I can to everyone around me, always, even when the grey clouds are cast. But that's a good one, this new 'revelation' about me, great read!

Stick with musicians like Luke...they keep it "real".

NS...he's losin' it, IMO.

Now this is news. A different take on a controversial event. A gag order, for whom?

Pretty interesting if you ask me. Guess the people that claimed he wasn't a good fit for them weren't that far off after all. Didn't realize that he sued.
Well didn't he already have the nod from neil and a contract signed? If so he had every right to sue them to be paid in full for the contract!

You can't fault someone for taking any legal means at his disposal to protect his interest to be fully compensated within the law for breach of contract. Restitution for is perfectly acceptable. There's nothing wrong with wanting what is rightfully yours.

Neal...also, if you read this. PLEASE, do something about your current guitar tone.

Too PROCESSED!!!! Go back to the "beginning" and plug a darn LP DIRECTLY into a Bassman or a good Marshall and turn it up!

You sound your best doing this.

Now...go work on your personality will ya?

I agree about the processing, although I do think he sounds a lot better live. A Bassman, given Journey's output the last 20 years? I don't know about that. Journey needs a little more gain than that I think now. A nice Marshall or even a good vintage voiced Boogie would do him well though.

Yeah...maybe. He could "boost" the front of a Bassman and get away just fine with it. I really just meant "clean up" all the effects and get a tone we can actually hear what he's playing. He rips, everybody knows it...I just want to hear it in it's "raw" "unprocessed" form.

Someone suggested they do an unplugged show in a couple of big cities in an intimate venue, just for the diehards. That would be something.

These days I simply 'gag' whenever NS opens his mouth. What a sickening piece of shit he is!

It never ceases to amaze me how utterly STOOPID this jackass thinks the fans are. Sure, we are in awe of his musical talent, but that doesn't blind us to his crackhead antics. Shut up and play the guitar, Neal...

Maybe a nice A/B setup with a Bassman and a hot rodded Marshall? Bassman for all the pretty chorused cleans and maybe songs like Lights and the Marshall for some of the more aggressive 80s/90s/00s stuff?

But I do agree... it's gotten to the point where he does the fast runs and it literally just sounds like a truck engine or something. I can't make out anything he's playing. And I know he's not getting sloppy.

One thing's for sure, his tone is too scooped on all the songs nowadays. Sounds ok sometimes, but not always, and especially not on vintage stuff like Wheel and Just The Same Way which were recorded with a classic 70s crunch more than a saturated gainy sound.

Hey - at least you guys are honest about having your minds in the gutter.

Watch? No. More I have to listen to some (loud) 13 year old boys who hang out next door and female plumbing seems to be a popular topic of conversation, right up there with the Xbox game they're playing.

Gagging order or not, this mainstream magazine has printed an inaccuracy and the quote is you sued them. I wouldn't sit down and take that shit......you'll be classed as a trouble maker, hard to work with by the general readership. I'd counter this with an insertion in the next issue.

I have never taken sides in this issue as I was on a self imposed Journey break while Jeff was in the Band. That said, Neal is so out of line with this shit!!! The Band has moved on and having success and Jeff is doing well on his own. For Neal to come out and say this now is beyond ridiculous. If Jeff didn't sue, I would sure be thinking about it now if I was him. I Love Journey, but someone needs to tell Neal to STFU!!

Neal needs to grow up.
the things that come out of his mouth
are more atuned to that of a spoiled child.

I hope JSS did ask for the rightful compensation he was entitled to under the terms of the contract.

I'd give him a standing ovation!

Well come on then. Just like Canada, it's under construction.

Gawd NS should just stick to music, everytime he opens his mouth about past bandmates he leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. I have a feeling there was more of a personality conflict with one band member, not all. And to say things got nasty, heck I'd be bugging the hell out of them too trying to find out what happened. IMO, finding out from a peer first is the nasty part. Doesn't seem fair that Neal can speak about it and not JSS? Oh well, all is right as it should be now I guess...........Jeff's got a great career to look forward to and Neal's got a new singer he can boss around (unlike Perry and Soto  ).

Classic Rock wrote,
Shortly after the 06 Monsters of Rock Journey played Sweden rock, it was here that an eagle eared Scandanavian sound engineer speculated that Steve Augeri might be lip synching. When quizzed on this again Neal said' Y'know, people get in trouble and they do what they gotta do to get throught shows' Augeri had serious problems with his vocals,he had a yeast infection in his throat that was incurable.'He couldn't get the gunk off his throat so he couldn't get anything out of it'
So Journey were atually trying to bolster up Augeri by the use of extra added vocal assistance shall we say?
'No comment you will have to talk to Augeri about it,this is such old news'

Regarding Jeff Scott Soto
'Jeff did a great job, he came in got us through a US tour and got paid very very well for it' .'But personality wise he was not right'. 'After we asked him to leave it got nasty and he decided to sue us'

Makes for intereresting reading Neal goes on to talk about Arnel and how they will write together in the future and how Steve Perry 'Wants nothing to do with us,its been like that for years' regarding any thought of a reunion. 8)
