I don't frequent this forum too often as I can't relate to much of what is posted here. When I saw this I HAD to respond.

A year ago? Is that when you found my Dream JOURNEY Project and the same idea that I expressed three years ago?

If all it takes is a single idea to be the next Herbie Herbert then I guess I beat you to it by two years!

Fuck off dweeb. Get your sorry ass outta here and go over and worship Fraudgeri. I had this idea about 5 years ago. Can't really implement it when the singer, um, cannot sing.

Yeah, I of all people, would ever thieve an idea from BT. You must be high or stupid or both.

My Dream JOURNEY Project is NOT an idea from BT. It's a dream born from my heart and soul. I guess in order to understand that you must first have a heart and soul.

Obviously, you're deeply hurt that a dweeb like myself promoted the idea a couple years before it ever crossed your mind. The fact that I suggested a much hotter artist in Shakira as well as wrote a song must REALLY be gnawing at you.

Of course, I agree that your idea is great. You just lack the ability to make it a vision quest like Herbie did. That's where I come in. Yup. I'm the illegitimate son of Herbie's and rightful heir to the JOURNEY managerial throne. Unlike yourself I have MANY ideas. I'm a visionary! That's what Herbie was to JOURNEY and until you can have a vision quest - you'll never hold a candle to Herbie.

Wow. You've obviously put a lot of time into your "dream project." I can really appreciate the creative aspects and overall depth of your work. The cover is well done save the Latin flags. However, Journey is an American band. Their roots are in San Francisco. While Neal's Carlos Santana influence is evident, it's only a part of what makes Journey special. Let's leave Latin rhythms to Santana, Julio Iglesias and Menudo. Their motives, as well as their music, are genuine. Producing a Latin album because the demographics of the country are changing would be shallow. Journey has always created music around inspiration and spontaneity. Let's keep it that way. Hey, if a Latin track evolves in Neal's head and he decides to work with the others, cool. But let's try to stay organic. Also, Deen and Jeff are harder rock guys. Journey's best bet for your project would seemingly have to have Rolie and Steve Smith. Then, and only then, you might have the chemistry to work around Neal's guitar and have your "dream project." Nonetheless, your vision and thoroughness on this project remain outstanding. I just think you have the wrong bunch of guys.

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback.

To clarify: the concept isn't based solely on demographics. The stats posted here were presented by Esther - a BTer who liked the idea and suggested that there would be a market for it based on the stats.

The cover that Sarah did is great and as I noted I feel that the flags need tempered, too. I think a thin ring of colors representing all of the Latino flags would be the way to go.

I agree that JOURNEY's an American band and I really don't perceive this as taking that away from them. I see it more as a way for them to connect with an audience that has yet to discover JOURNEY.

I'd say that this is absolutely the right bunch of guys. JOURNEY has been a band of evolution. Each album they've recorded has been unique. At the foundation of them all is the signature JOURNEy sound. If any band out there could pull this off it would be JOURNEY. Like you said, it would have to come from inspiration. I guess I'm trying to provide a little of that with the project.

You know, Fyre, I've always appreciated you. You have always been a cool head with many great ideas, bro. In fact, you are the reason I even bothered posting in this thread tonite. Dean is fun to mess around with with. But you, you are the real deal!

Thanks, Brian! I'm TRULY humbled. I lurk most of the time and always make it a point to read your posts. You always have something positive and entertaining to say.

I'll stop now - I have something in my eye...

I don't know how you feel about me but I do know that you hate the idea but I'm happy that you at least recognize the effort!

I know you don't think it will ever happen and you're probably right however nothing ventured, nothing gained. Despite the hopelessness of it all I've personally gained a lot.

Heart and soul...

Deano - that's more than enough from you. You can have a 1 week holiday to cool down.

Dude, I'm fast running out of excuses not to. You do yourself NO favors whatsoever with your choice of the way you deal with people and to be honest, that method mainly just brings me greif.
So cool off for a week and let's hope things improve next week.
