Blaring "Triumph 83 US Festival" DVD right now. Who will ask me to turn it down first? Wife or neighbors?

Probably neither, they all like this stuff and it's only 8:20.

I beleive it was the 4th song but I will replay it in your honor. I may even sing a line or two into the mic and record if I get really ambitious. 8)

Wow, do tell! I have video of the heavy metal day and the Stevie Nicks set. I was just a sophomore in High School at the time. It is the one show if I had to go back in time that I would pick to see!

Let's see how my voice hold's up on those Rik Emmitt notes first. I can sing this kind of stuff pretty well - Gin Blossoms, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Billy Joel, The Refereshments and any county song (easy). When I try to do the higher hard rock stuff, I am total hit or miss.

I'm a hack, but can carry a tune. I've been called up with some local bands who are friends of mine. They are not embarassed to have me sing, so I guess I do alright. I can even strum a few chords and sing along. Coffee house quality at best. 8)

I was just out of highschool. My boyfriend at the time's father was the medic for the festival. We had backstage area passes, but not access to the bands. Meaning, we could hang out in the medic van, but not sleep there. Vitiman B12 shots were the thing, so we caught various band members coming in for those. I had a few myself.
Heavy metal day was OK, but the last day was the best. David Bowie, The Pretenders and yes, Stevie, she was awesome.
I could go on about the US festival. It was the 80's version of Woodstock. INXS, U2, Vanhalen etc...
I saw more talent in 3 days than most people see in a lifetime.

I'm drinking some Dom Perignon, wish I could share it.
But seriously, MSR and journygal, if you guys want to come to Brooklyn for a night of Journey and champagne, we could make it happen.
