Anthrax is a good band but I get tired of that "let's pretend we're devil worshippers so people think we're cool" crap.

Dave - I'm not sure they were into the Satanic posturing that much. Didn't they fancy themselves as being a bit poiltical and 'aware'?

Nah, they've had at least two or three albums out recently with the pentragram symbol emblazoned on it.

Okay - I can see why they felt it wouldn't fit on that album....

Did you catch this one, Dave? It's a five minute version of "Liberty" from the Augeri days (alas) - but Schon's solo is brilliant....

Since the song in my previous post is about 20 minutes long, I won't be posting here again for awhile...

Meanwhile, here is a link to the live performance of "Thick as a Brick". Ian Anderson wrote some of the most complex music in rock & roll. Good musician and songwriter.

This live version is "only" about 9 minutes long but it gives a good overview of "Thick as a Brick", which is in two parts on the album of the same name. There are two parts and both are about 20 minutes long. Usually, those songs tend to be just wank fests but this one has lots of interesting parts.

If you never seen a performance from Jethro Tull, you will probably find his stage presence to be a bit strange. He seems to be kinda manic on stage.

That was great, Dave. I've never been able to totally get into JL - except the obvious ones like "Aqualang" and "Locomotive Breath" - but I really enjoyed this one....

Didn't their guitarist have a sex change recently?

Martin Barre is their guitarist and has been with them since their second album. Pretty good guitarist. Seems like a combination of a good blues player and someone like Steve Howe.

Anyway, David Palmer is who you're thinking of. He is their former "orchestral leader" and keyboardist. Not sure how many albums he/she performed on or how long he/she was with the band. Here's the story... http://www.j-tull.com/news/deepalmer.cfm

Gives me the creeps. These people have some serious issues that aren't going to be fixed by changing genders.
