Who knows Photoshop?

Postby Blue Falcon » Sat Oct 07, 2006 6:39 am

All this talk about the JY/DDY rift gave me an idea: what if Styx re-released their classic CDs, but with DDY Photoshopped out of all the photos? It sounds crazy (and I doubt it could happen), but Ozzy re-released his first two albums with new bass/drum parts recorded over the originals...and the original members were not credited on the insert, so they get no royalty $$$ at all. And this was done because his witch wife didn't like the original bassist or drummer. :x

Anyway, I don't know Photoshop, but I think it would be hilarious if someone who did made a cover of PO8 with DDY edited out! :D

Ohhhhhhhhhh, that would be sad!!! I love the Pieces of Eight album cover! Actually we could do it for each member and see what covers we'd like and not like.

I would prefer to edit JY out of every album since he didn't contribute shit to the band in the entire 30 years of its existence.

I know Photoshop quite well, but It's a LOT of work, and since the people who would do that stuff normally get paid to that that stuff, it's not worth all the time and effort it would take for me personally to do it. It's not exactly a job that can be done quickly and have great results. It sounds crazy, but the reality is that it's not that crazy an idea. I'd venture to say though that it'd bring yet another awsuit to JY's greedy little hands though.

I agree, I'd rather if I could, "Photoshop" JY out of Styx all together. His contributions are barely more than I've ever contributed to Styx.

Keep chugging on that bottle on your avitar if you truly believe this. JY might not have as many writing credits as other members, but he has always been an integral part of the Styx sound.

Don't let your feelings for him acting as an ass sometimes cloud his musical contributions to the band.Image

well, we have done "alternate" versions of styx album covers. (actually my husband did all the photoshop work, but i came up with the concepts) If you go to susan's website

http://lockgen.com/mystyx/index.html

scroll down to las vegas september '99
click on "the party"

there is a picture of howie holding a poster of the "BRAVE NUDE WORLD" Album cover we designed. (basically scott "erased" the skirt on the woman, and gave her a lower half) its a bit hard to see in the photo. we also made a bunch of brave nude world t-shirts that i gave to the band, crew, and a few lucky fans. i thought i had a better pic on my computer, but i don't. :/ there is also an awful pic of scott & myself on the site, as well as a copy of the big "birthday card" we gave tommy.

i also have some redesigned cyclorama albums that i gave each of the band members. they were amused... ;) unfortunately i dont have copies of those.

photoshop is fun- i need to learn it. my hubby is a graphic designer and can do anything in photoshop. :D[/img]
