They're rockin' the shit outta the Skins right now. 36-14 with 3:40 in the 4th

Now let's hope the 'Boys kick the Giants ass. That'd REALLY top off the weekend well. Aggies won yesterday too....was kinda pissed that Texas beat Nebraska though. I was pullin' for Neb.

Dude good luck with the Giants. But damn, I hate the fuckin Cowboys. Sorry man. A buddy of mine was a real fuckin asshole when I was growing up when the Boys were in the hey day and the Colts were SUCKIN! I've hated then ever since then. Probably because they've been too good for too long. Anyhow, good luck with it man. I'm off for another red grey hound to celebrate the Colts going 6-0. :)

Sandler is my absolute favorite. He's an old boy scout type like me. :) I don't remember the chick though, I'll have to check it again. Now Shania, not too bad. Now if I could just get the Applebee's chick outta my head, FUCK SHE IS COOL. I'd take her over anyone right now. I'm pathetic. Goddamn Andrea anyhow. See, her name is even cool.

L8r bro,

P.S. Now that I think about it, Drew Barrymore (sp?) turns my crank. Her in The Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates, that's completely my style. 8)

Thanks for asking actually.

In Baltimore we claim any pre-1984 Colts stuff as our own. MOST Indy Colts fans get that. Johnny Unitas, Art Donovan, Lenny Moore, etc are in the Ravens ring of fame. Not in the Colts version in Indy. I got no problem with them other than it is OUR logo and OUR history. They haven't done much with it.

The Super Bowl V Colts trophy is here in Baltimore! That says a lot.

Johnny U was a fan of BALTIMORE football and as much as seeing the horsehoe somewhere else has always bothered me - he didn't care. I just really think the name and logo should have stayed here. When we got the Browns, I was happy we did not become the "Baltimore Browns"

We love the Ravens, but will never forget the "Baltimore Colts". I met Peyton Manning once, and he shook my hand and told me how much he respected that the Colts belong to Baltimore. Cool guy!

I wish Indy would have taken their own name for the franchise. Indy Racers, Indy 500's, etc with a race car on the helmet.

AR,

That is pretty cool seeing you holding the cup. I've been a huge Colts fan since they came to Indy. I don't like the way the came, nor was a jazzed about not getting a new name, but I love the team. If it would have been up to me, we would have gotten a new franchise with a new name like you were saying. Anyhow, I have tons of respect for your approach. With any luck Indy will do something soon. They have a class act of a team, they just need to win a super bowl for once in a row.

With the Ravens at 4-2, they are looking pretty good. Denver and Carolina are both good teams. They could have a shot this year. Good luck on the season.

L8r,

Aaron

Thank you Aaron. Much like most Indy Colts Fans I have encountered - nothing but props and class. Although there were some in 1984 wearing fake Indy Orioles jerseys.

Our CFL team was originally called the "Colts'. NFL fought it in court and won. Strangely enough, the CFL British Columbia Lions pre-date the Detroit Lions by many years. Hmmmmmmm.

Oh well, we are very lucky to have had the Baltimore Colts, and have gotten the Ravens. The city really deserved an NFL team back and we got one. Sorry that it happened to be the Browns, but they got their team back too.

I do miss the horseshoe though. Really think/know it belongs to us.

If you ever come to Baltimore - there is a sports museum at Camden Yards with amazing Colts material and the SBV trophy!

AR,

If I'm out that way, I'll definately have to see the museum. I bet there is some killer Unitas stuff. Thanks for the tip.

Now, a fake Indianapolis Orioles shirt? Sorry dude but that is too fuckin funny. :)

Just to add, weirdest thing was watching the Ravens vs. the Colts in Baltimore 2 times. Unitas, Mackey, Moore, & Donovan on the Ravens sideline.

Makes sense though, they played in Baltimore. As a fan that was pretty cool.

I watched that game and thought it was weird too. I had no idea that Unitas, Mackey and Donovan were there on the Ravens sideline. That would have been really wierd if I would have known but it makes sense.

If you ever go to our stadium for a game, there is a Johnny U statue at the main gate.

Last Call

Postby AR » Mon Oct 23, 2006 2:34 pm

Strange thing, but I will mention this.

When Johnny U passed away on 9/11/02, both the Colts and Ravens requested to wear #19 on their helmets. Paul Tagliabue granted permission to the Ravens only. Never liked that dude, but he got that one right. Both Manning (class act) and our QB Chris Redmon wanted to wear the Johnny U black high tops. The NFL gave neither permission. Redmon did it anyway - to a huge ovation. No fine or anything. That was pretty cool!
