It was "DOOBIE" in our little neck of the woods...and I was the master Doobie-maker !!!! 20 years after graduation, and that's still a hot topic of conversation at our class reunion this year!!!!

That's interesting....if you asked for a "doobie'' down here you'd be offered something completely different.

That's why we didn't ask for "a" doobie...it was just doobie. Of course, we just wanted the fruit in the bottom of the bucket, trash can, whatever...after it marinaded for several hours first in the grain alcohol!!! That stuff is no longer available in Virginia, we've gotta cross over the line to West Virginia if we want it.

Sounds potent! Is grain alcohol the same as Everclear? That was a staple ingredient of Jungle Juice.

Your locaton says on the Guadalupe - is that the river, in Texas? If so, what is doobie here? I thought it was a joint, too!

Yes...it's a river in central Texas...doobies are joints here...

I know where that is! I will be in New Braunfels next week!! :) I was just confused about the doobie thing. I realize now, Donna was talking about the Jungle Juice/Trash Can Punch. Sorry. I guess it's sort of the same - all stuff to get you whacked outta your head!

Well that was the goal in high school and college...getting bombed...not so much about the taste..volumn and potency were more important. :D

My part of the Guadalupe is farther West. You're not going tubing this time of year !? :D

You are right about the goal. I went to school in Austin for a year (not a UT), and we drank some nasty crap. I think I've mentioned it on here before. It was about $1.15/bottle - sorry Nora! - but you got ripped in a hurry.

Oh, good Lord, no, I'm not tubing. My family has just made a tradition of going to NB at Thanksgiving. Off season, nice weather.... Very relaxing.

Yep, same stuff!!! One night at a Christmas party (a loonnng time ago!) I was excessively shitfaced. On a dare, I took a big drink of Everclear straight...Travis tells me that afterward I was talking to the people at our table, but my mute button had apparently been turned on!! My mouth was moving, but there was no damned sound coming out!!! It took a while to get it back, but I just kept on talking--didn't have a clue no one could hear me!!! Everyone got a good laugh out of it, and I survived it, so it's all good. Won't do it again, though, I betcha!!!! :?

I still like my doobie though...grain punch/Jungle Juice/trash can punch - not the wacky weed!!!

Alcohol is/was my drug of choice too... :D

There was a place in Austin a long time ago called Jorge's that used to make their frozen margaritas with Everclear...only time in my life I ever saw double (yes I really saw double!) was after downing one, just one, of those.

Did that Jeremy come back in here from

Boring as watching water boil here and only
have mango juice to sip on.
Life sucks tonight, hope you lot are having
