.388?? You can do better than that dude. j/k

Hit .425 in my rookie over 30 year. I was a #1 starting pitcher this year, and that does not help at the plate.

Fun to still be able to do this. Ross Valory grilled me about this league when we were bs'ing in Atlantic City.

I take it you got off work today. Lucky. It's colder and still freezing the streets up here and I've gotta go at 3. We closed the store at 4 yesterday 'cause it was getting bad...now they're open on the worst of the 2 days. I don't get it. :?
Anyway...I'll be here with a beer (or Glenfiddich) in hand later. :-)

Partially. No beer during the week so I can train for baseball season. Can't start till later on Saturdays either because we workout either in the morning or afternoon.

The funny thing is, I can drink the night before games during the season and still play at a high level. But if I don't cut things down for a few months before we start and do these workouts, it makes it a lot tougher later on, especially with pitching.

We do drink beer at the field after games. 8)

Yup - they closed most of the schools in the area today. Didn't really see any ice where I live except on freeway overpasses. I just saw CS on the news - it looks deserted. They said they would tell us later how college students spend their time waiting for classes to start again. I'm guessing the bars are full?? LOL!

Hope you stay safe on the roads.

Who knows??? There's a chance that he is still not fully aware of just how cool we are and he was implying that maybe I over-estimated our coolness factor...but, he's wrong. We are cool and most people are intimidated by us, it's just something we have to deal with. It's not easy being as cool as we are, is it????

Good for you, AR!!! My husband used to play baseball growing up. He quit his senior year in high school and switched to basketball. He still plays that every week. This spring/summer, he's going to coach our daughter's Pinto league baseball team. He's looking forward to teaching the kids how to play baseball, but he's a little nervous about dealing with their parents! I used to be a teacher, so I'll probably help him out with that a bit. I guess the first half of the season has the coaches pitching, and the second half has the kids pitching. Now THAT should be interesting! I wonder how many batters will get hit with the ball? My daughter is beyond excited that her daddy will be coaching!
