This seems to indicate that JOURNEY was simply trying to maintain their contracts in good faith. This may be perceived as callously screwing the fans for the love of money. In reality, people are BIOLOGICAL and can’t always perform. That’s why Broadway and theatre use seconds in case of illness.

Tapes weren’t used solely for the US Generations tour, but for the UK tour, as well.
Those kidney-pie eating bastards waited for decades to see their favorite band and instead, they got shanghai suprprised.
Also, according to two sources (WHO I WILL NOT NAME) Augeri was fully intent on lipping thru the Def Leppard tour until mngt. laid down the law.

This chronology excludes the tape-use that had already been occurring and was growing more and more prevalent starting as early as 2002.
