I joined MR a year ago and the whole board was in meltdown because of all the Tapegate stuff.
And now, a year later it's in meltdown again.
Is this going to be an annual thing?

Yup...I was here for that. Welcome back to hell everyone.

Lora it pains me to even imagine how you and Cyndy might feel through this.

You especially have always been so open and "out there" with all the Perry fans ...... I remember you told me once it was because you were "still a fan".

I hope when the dust settles you still can be.

I think the cropped photo and lack of the name "Jeff Scott Soto" being mentioned says it all. We mustn't forget how spineless these guys are..... it wasn't long ago they were too chicken shit to announce Augeri's departure and they still expect the fans to believe their cookie cutter lies. The only way this will fly is if Perry himself is coming back, otherwise they are nothing but a joke at this point.
True. The only acceptable possibility is if Perry comes back, otherwise I am done with Journey. Perry or Jeff in Journey, no one else is acceptable for me. ..so if not either one, no Journey. I have become a huge fan of Jeff, so I will now follow whatever he does, so who needs Journey? Schon, Cain, and Ross are mindless clods who needed Herbie to guide them. Augeri wasn't too bright either,,,,trying to sing like Perry till he blew out his voice, then going along with a coverup and lipping and yes, the rest of the band knew and ripped off the fans. Now they have used Jeff to keep lining their pockets. Perry and Smith have some brains...so does Jeff and he brought alot to the table in his singing and writing talent, but it should be obvious to all now, that due to egos and stupidity it is impossible for anyone to work with these guys now and make it a success,, Jeff is better off out of Journey. Dig his solo work and Talisman more now anyway. Hey Schon, Friga,,, Journey was never about the players. Your success was due to Perry, period. The Augeri era was hanging on at best. Now there was some renewed interest, but it was due to Jeff's efforts and talents and background, not due to your parts, this is fact. Idiots! :x

Oh, how I wish neal would see this....I'm just seething now!

Crop Jeff out of the band photo. Omit the hugely successful tour of 2006 that he saved for the greedy assholes. Pure class, as if tapegate wasn't bad enough, pathetic.

ya know, I always thought the band pic was kinda weird. It looked like they had all been taken separately and then photoshopped together. could this have been the plan all along?

I'm leaving for work and will be back at 11. carry on. (just so my silence won't be miscontrued)

I just don't get how they could edit their own website to remove Jeff's bio and picture, without making some kind of official announcement first. I mean, who is the idiot that made that decision - "oh yeah, let's take Jeff's pic off but not tell anyone what's going on". That was smart. Day to day, whoever runs Backtalk made a lousy decision, and Azoff is once again handling another explosive band situation very poorly. Do these guys have PR people? They need to hire some that know how to do their jobs. It's called damage control. It is just so beyond disrespectful and amateurish - they should remove Jeff's picture after the announcement is made and people have some time to absorb the news.... unbelievable.

What gets me is why Jeff hasn't posted at all on here, for ages...was he told by management to get the fuck off MR! I know it's down time and he's busy also with other projects but he was pretty prolific at posting....then wham bam :?

It'll be interesting to see how the tide turns when the new singer is announced - for some that is

Yes, at least everyone seems to be on the same *side* in this "war".

God- even my husband ( who is not as big a music fan as we are, but enjoyed Journey w/JSS in Orlando last Nov.) said he thought this was utter Bullshit!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, wine and chocolate in hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "what a ride!"

That sounds good Larry. BUT there must be some way that Jeff can trick the band into giving up the Journey name, like Superman tricked Gen. Zod and the others into giving up their power. Jeff said it was his dream job, we must figure our a way!!!!

I'm thinking of trying out for Journey myself actually. Time they had a woman. [HELL NO. J/K] Let's see one singer lasted 20 yrs, the next 8 yrs, now 11 mths. I figure they'll need someone else in 2 mths this time. Let's all try out. Oh that's right, they'll be singing at the free county fairs any day now. Who predicted that? Monker, Fred? Maybe they had crystal balls after all.

I can't see them surviving another singer change.I really had high hopes for the band with JSS in front.
