This Band is great for the gag orders deep pockets for that !!Jeff might laugh to the bank, and if they bring anyone back but Steve P Neal is definetly smokin dope I doubt the fans would put up with it!Because if they go the tribute route Neal Might as well hang it up to and let someone take over for him to.

It hurts because Sir Soto was just given the job, I know these guys are
old but surely they can recall one contract fom the next.

Had to be a dick post didn't it?

Would you have felt better if they never made him the new lead singer and just left him as the fill in guy to save the tour?

I wouldn't. And if you know about Jeff's career & how LONG & HARD he's worked for over 20 years, you'd know why.

So you'd feel better if they considered Jeff to fill in for the tour, then decide to just cancel?

No, either way would have been crap, & is crap now. I saw Journey on July 11th last year, just days after Jeff came to "fill in", I could see on his face it was a dream come true for him to be up there. His fans *before* Journey know that.

I remember it was a dream for his family too seeing him finally live his dream. Now this. I COULD NOT BELIEVE how much better he had become from his beginning when I saw him in Charlotte, and then when they were in Columbia. Simply UNBELIEVABLE show in Columbia. The band was ON FIRE!! I don't appreciate seeing good genuine people being done this way. I cannot support this band any longer regardless of who it is, unless it were you know who. That is the ONLY way I will support this, as Jeff himself has said he would step aside for it. It is obvious the way this is being handled that is not the case however.

Makes you wonder if the hip thing or the supposed tapegate were actually true or if it was both just "we don't want these guys anymore."

It'll be interesting to see what the excuse with Jeff is but I'm pretty sure he didn't leave of his own accord. I mean, I knew of Jeff long before Journey cos of Queen conventions and saw him live 5 times and I know he waited over 20 years to try and get where he got last year...

Which makes this even more of a eyebrow raiser.

"Jeff has departed from Journey

More information I'm sure will be forthcoming. Word is just getting out so I do not wish to speculate on the reasons for the separation. As a Journey fan I enjoyed the one show I saw him front in Boston. Jeff has some great fans. Keep up the good work you do here and I will visit when I can."

What a funkin' joke! Amazing he's the ONLY mod from BT to ever even post on BT..can you say ASS KISSER!

it’s all so sad….this band has really just become a parody of themselves with all these changes and the manner in which it has all gone down

i wouldn’t expect much validity in sound bytes from the band in the coming days….it’ll be business as usual, from the usual suspects

they’ll simply disregard the 20-50 MR.com fans…play the same old hits on the road….and count the money…..might be a bit less than last year, but it’ll be good money nonetheless

what they won’t get, is the respect they once had……no money in the world can buy that

Jeff.. I hope to see again another day. You're a great guy!

Neal.. Thanks for all the guitar licks. They were great. However, I cannot handle any more bullshit. Journey is over. Start something new and I may latch back on to you.. Journey is over! Let it go, man!

As much as I hate to say it, Brian, I'm with you on that. Sad sad day for me....

Jeff was living his dream. He spoke so highly of these guys, and was so excited about their future. The ONLY way he stepped aside IMO is if Perry were returning. That is not the case either. This is being handled by guys acting like 2 year olds just like the Augeri situation was handled. Tonight I almost feel sorry for Augeri as well. No telling what he endured just trying to hang on. Jeff is too talented, smart, and too wise to the game for them to run over.

One other note. Even though I guess it's not important right now, we are on page 9, and no bashing has occured. This thread is about true Journey fans, on the same page, angered by what has happened to a good man and talented singer. Kudos to all!!

I feel sorry for any singer that's been in that band.

Makes me laugh when I think about Neal though... can never stick with one person. Singers, partners, see a pattern here?

Wonder if he goes through guitars at the same rate?

LOL...Good point. As good a friends as I assumed he and Jeff were. If he let Cain do this, and wouldn't stand up for what's right, that shows you the 'man' he is right there.

Yeah... by partners I kind of meant wives cos even though he has like 4 ex-wives he probably has had a few girlfriends in between that were near misses so I was using it as a generic term.

And yes JrnySC, you would have thought that if they were as good friends as was made out then this would not have happened. But they really are a joke now.

They are silly old men... that's all they are. A bunch of silly old men.

The ONLY way I'd support this band again is if they brought Jeff back or had a one-off or farewell tour with Perry. It fucking kills me to say I wouldn't support them with Castro, but I'll never get past the fact that he was involved in Jeff's being "let go."

I am so tired of the ass clown behavior of NS & JC and RV. If you think we are lemings, think again. After Perry,I went to 2 shows(one was free) and never ever went again. Told all my friends, too. Then,JSS was sooooooo good I was looking to go again. Whoever you bring in now, unless it is Perry, is DOA. So is this band at this point.

Can anyone answer this with some certainty? How much say so does/would Deen have in this decision? From what his mom had posted last year on the BT forum, it didn't sound like he had much, if any, final say on business decisions?

He was stealing their thunder. He is such a great frontman, I can say from experience he is most of what I noticed during the show. The man is a freak onstage. He is everywhere. Probably rubbed Neal and Jon the wrong way. They weren't 'noticed' enough. That is my opinion anyway.

I would not be surprised if "JDoubleS" decided to go forward on his own instead of attaching his name permanently to Journey. He definitely has a set of pipes and I can't imagine anyone trying to subdue his harder rock sounding vocals in contrast to the style of music we are use to hearing from Journey.

Regardless, good luck to all of them. I'm sure the next few weeks and/or months should be interesting (to say the least). :D
