Jeff had told us early on in the tour, like the first day really, about how he was concerned about what was going on with Journey, that there was some unspecified dissatisfaction with him coming mainly from Neal Schon...

Hmmm...I had the idea that the dissatisfaction was as much from Jon as it was Neal but I guess I'm not totally surprised that it was "mainly" Neal.

Well, I know Jeff expected to come home to have a sitdown with Neal and management to discuss and sort out whatever issues or misconceptions. Instead this happened: we'd done a highly emotional show at Sweden Rock, we were all feeling good about the reception…and backstage at the Aerosmith show Jeff meets the singer for another band that have the same management as Journey. This guy steps up and says to the effect "Hi Jeff, so sorry to hear the news about your departure from Journey"! Talk about a letdown!

This is the most maddening part, that the other guys in Journey didn't have the guts or decency to at least wait to talk to Jeff face to face, man to man. How cowardly are these guys? Do they really think that Jeff might go ballistic and pop a cap in their asses or something like that or are they just so weak that they can't take any kind of confrontation? Hmm...Looks like the latter, I guess.

The more we learn, the more it's totally obvious that Jeff got a raw deal. Image

My guess would be that Neal's irritated ego was just a lot more apparent than Jon's manipulation of that ego. Jon was the only one who wasn't immediately happy about what Jeff brought to Journey. He played along though, biding his time. He knows Neal well enough to know his temperment and/ego is going to eventually provide a chink for him to drive a wedge into.

I think SJ pretty well nailed the interpersonal dynamic between those two.

Just read this...
God, what bastards these guys are!

If they had second thoughts, that's totally understandable. Cain never seemed that into Jeff, but Jesus Christ , handle it like men and don't just throw the guy out like a piece of garbage. Jeff's a major talent and a decent guy and he'll come out on top.

Nice of the guy from the other band to let that out just before the Talisman show. Way to f*ck up an important gig. I wouldn't be surprised it Azoff had him just drop that bomb to set the ball rolling as the article alludes to.

I thought Jeff and Neal were good buds??? The way Neal was talking during SS and when Jeff came aboard for Journey, it was like Jeff was the second coming of you know who.

Nice one Neal, way to be a good friend!
If you're reading this, I hope you get what you deserve. You're a complete wanker.

Hmm, now that I think about it, maybe you ARE getting what you deserve:
A band that will NEVER regain it's past glory and you'll kill yourself trying to get back to the top.

Ain't Karma a Bitch??

NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

I just don't dig people that do that to other people, band or no. You don't do this kind of crap to people especially when they've bailed your ass out of a MAJORLY EMBARRASSING situation (tapegate). If Jss was some kind of womanizing, ego-maniac that just wanted all the glory, wanted to constantly upstage his bandmates, and to piss off everyone around him, sure, he'd have to be fired.... um wait... isn't that somebody else?

I respect the hell out of Brian May and Marcel Jacob for publicly stating how they feel about the whole situation. Neither one of them had to say anything! 8)

Maybe this means that Neal was the only to voice the dissatisfaction or the only one that JSS could read it on....not the only one or necessarily even the one who was dissatisfied ??
