FESTA ITALIANA INCIDENT

Okay I just got back from the festa italiana tonight. Of course I knew he was going to do mr.roboto and of course that is the only song I really really hate with a passion so I was just shaking my head like I always do when I here that song. So anyway out of the blue dennis flips me off. Yes you read that right he flipped me off for no aparent reason. So I'am wearing my styx '07 shirt and I whip it out and yes again he flips me off for no reason again. So then I start trying him to get to see me whipping out my shirt all night it doesn't work so then just because he flipped me off twice me and my mom of course was on my side we start booing him at the end of come sail away and then we get his attention and so his dumb bimbo wife flips both me and my mom off as well as dennis and then he says not only are you fat he said something else I couldin't make out. And I know suzanne said something to both of us but of course we couldin't make it out so we both just left. After a while I get calmed down because that really makes me upset no one does that or speaks to my mom like that. So then I go in the restroom and out of the blue again and I'm almost done here's glen yes glen I'm pretty sure he must of followed me because that's what my mom said what it looked like and then starts degrading me yes he said at first so what do you do for a living and of course I say I am currently unemployed at the moment ( I didn't tell him I was just laid off I just said that.) And then he starts dropping the f bomb yes the f bomb at me and saying because I told him dennis started it I didn't do anything to him until he flipped me off and of course glen didn't believe me. And then he said don't bother f- bomb again listening to any of my records or dennis's anymore or something like that. And then I walked back to where my mom was and I told her then here he is again. He asked her what does she do for a living and she's said a cashier she didn't say where (she works at wal mart) and then he said a similar thing again to her and it was almost yelling like so then I step in again I keep telling him what happend and of course he still doesn't believe me. So then after a few more minutes of expletive chatting we leave because no one I don't give a damn who you are speaks to my mom like that and then he had the nerve to say you've got a sorry person of a son and also don't ever come see us again (which we won't) then I don't think he heard me but then I yelled back ricky is a million times better then you to. So all I have left to say is screw you dennis and glen we definetly won't be back!!!!!!!

Wow,, what can I say? I know Dennis picks a person to "kid" in the audience, but if this was true, wow..

Did you wear your black Styx '07 shirt to the Dennis concert or did you put it over another (white?) shirt before/during the show? Just curious............

Nightbull,

I know you're hurting, and it stinks when an idol turns to clay, but for Dennis to flip you off, and believe me, I can see this, what else happened? If he was offended by your shirt, which it sounds like he was, why keep waving it? If you provoked him, you got what you asked for.

Glen is not the type to go after someone unless there was a provoking, so what's missing here?

Also, isn't festa italiana a FAMILY event? WTH?

What was this? Date night with mom? Seriously tho - if you got Glen to get ticked at YOU then you seriously must have done something provocative. Glen is about as laid back as he's ever been these been. While I'd say it wouldn't be hard to get Dennis riled up, for Glen to get involved means that I have less faith in what you say than what likely happened.

You know if froy didn't confirm the story, no noe would have believed it. But if you are provoking him by continually showing a cuurrent Styx shirt, then you get what you get. Probably would have been different if you were showing a classic lineup shirt. Still don't know why you would bring a current lineup shirt you weren't wearing unless you were trying to start something.

When I saw Dennis w/orchestra in Houston a while back(years) a couple of people near us were wearing Styx 1999 T shirts. Dennis looked at em, waved his finger a little and then laughed. He didnt care at all. He actually had a little fun with it.

I would NEVER call you a liar, I wasnt there. But there must be more to this story than you are telling us.

My bet (and it's only a bet since I wasn't there) was if this "person" was in the front and he was heckling Dennis, after a while Dennis might lose his cool about it. I know I would. I seriously doubt Dennis gave anyone the finger (middle) from the stage. That would be understandable under a heckling situation, but still unfortunate.

I'd never go to a concert (Styx or otherwise) and heckle the band just because my guy wasn't there. I'd simply not go. I know we've all had a lot of fun with THAT particular topic in years past as it revolved around promotion of the shows and boycots and what not - but I think by enlarge people from various camps have been respectful at every show they go to. For them not to be would be disappointing as well.

People at concerts are not random targets. Especially given my previous Glen comment.

It actually kinda brings a smile to my face that Glen felt the need to stick up for his buddy Dennis if he felt he was being attacked. I'm sure Glen would have done the same for Tommy/JY if those guys were heckled or otherwise "attacked" on stage and what not.

Asking for it or not, DDY needs to control it under that circumstance and not let one guy commandeer the show. I'm a bipolar redhead and I know what it's like to go through swings of emotion - so I can understand being needled into reacting emotionally. Dennis just need to remember not to let one guy flake out a show for everyone else.

Still - it sounds like this guy who did the heckling shouldn't have been at the show. Makes you wonder if my unemployment dollar went to pay for his ass to be in a front-row seat.

I love it. People think they live in their glass cage and can sit in the audience and do whatever they want to the guys on stage. If people feared the guy coming off stage to fuck them up we'd have a lot less shit go on at concerts.

And I have no doubt that Glen would have won. Had I been there, I'd have been Glen's personal bodyguard.

Suite, you got that right. 3 sides to this story. SOMEthing happened to get that strong a reaction from the stage, though, and for Glen to do what he did.

BTW, Hooray for Glen!

There are idiots at every show in one form or another (hecklers, drunks, general lame-brains) and I have witnessed a few.

My reaction to all this is don't mess with the Italian or the Jersey boys!

In this day in age post-Dimebag incident, nobody knows exactly what someone like this is thinking or capable of. Dennis has every right to react as he sees fit. When you go to see an artist, show some respect or don't go.

Last year some loser heckled Paul Stanley on his solo tour by screaming between songs "Tommy Thayer Sucks" and Paul addressed him and made him look like the clown he was... I think Paul responded "so does your mother" and then went into an explanation of said mother's abilities.

Lets see, when I met DDY last year in NAshville, I had on a Styx shirt and we joked around about it. He didn't start anything with me. Must have been something this guy in the crowd did. Granted in was unprofessional, but anyone can lose there cool, and this guy pointing out his shirt and other stuff can start something. Do I lose respect for DDY, NO!! I agree. No one in the audience is getting paid to entertain a crowd. The guy on stage is. I don't know whether the chicken or the egg came first (according to Froy, [in a very long message, I might add], the guy in the front row started flipping Denny off first, according to nightbull, Dennis threw the first proverbial punch), but regardless, why react in front of a crowd of people? That's kinda ...grandiose (and rude), there. People on unemployment have paid their taxes too. That's why we pay the taxes in the first place - so that if we ever need them, the funds are available.

I likely would have been a lot more critical of Dennis had the Glen part of the story not happened. Glen reacting that way makes me think there was a really good reason. Lets face it - in New Jersey, Glen needed security to get the people away from his jeep so he could leave. Why he would leave a secure area to confront a fan in a bathroom is not only gutsy, it's downright dangerous (or can be). So if he just did it on his own - there had to have been a really good reason for it.

That part of the story alone indicates to me that there is part of this story missing. Regardless - Dennis isn't going to tell a fan that they're number one just for wearing a Styx shirt. I was with Abitaman when he met Dennis - and Dennis and he had a great time with Abita's shirt. And Dennis certainly isn't going to flip someone off "for no reason". I don't believe that for a second. I wouldn't believe it of Tommy or JY either. Regardless of everything else, these guys are stage-seasoned and there's not much they haven't seen.

This is all so stupid. If Nightbull had intentions of heckling, he is an idiot. No matter...if Dennis and Glen lost it, they were in the wrong too. They could have taken another path...instead they look like fools too.
