This is a sad day for DDY. I don’t care what someone in the audience does you do not make a fool of yourself and flip somebody off from the stage for everyone to see. Why can’t he be professional and let it go or have someone from his crew go talk to the man? I was not there and I do not know what this person really did but I do know it would be a cold day in hell before anyone in Styx would act like that from the stage during a show! My opinion of DDY and his wife just went down another notch or two!! Grow up and get over yourself Cosmo Kramer .......I mean Dennis DeYoung.

Speaking of the finger….I saw DDY, Glen, JY, Chuck, and John back in 1991 at the Illinois State Fair and at the end of the show Glen dropped a double bird on the people in front on his side of the stage. I’m sure he was catching hell for not being Tommy but he still looked real tacky doing that.

After the concert I saw Glen backstage and going back and forth to the van and then back up to the stage talking to people. I'm trying to figure out if he left the stage like lightning just to find you.

Hmmmm.............

yeah- i have a bit of a problem with this part of the "story" as well. glen had nothing better to do than to track down this idiot... riiiiggghhhhttt....

Okay I think it is time for further review at this point. As I stated in the post I I repeat DID NOT DO ANYTHING TO DENNIS UP UNTIL THE FACT HE FLIPPED ME OFF. All I was doing was shaking my head no like I always do whenever I here that song is that a crime? Okay now I admit that I was wrong for booing at the end that was wrong and disrespectful. I know I acted immature and I probably deserved what I got. And for all of you that thought I went there to start something no I didn't should I have not worn that shirt probably but I did not go to the show to start anything as I said to glen I just wanted to check him out his choice not to believe me was his and his alone. And incase you are wondering the only reason as I stated in my post before I am unemployed because I was just recently laid off due to budget cuts or so I was told. After sleeping on this whenever I have a chance to apologize for my actions to dennis & glen/suzanne I will. And as far as the restroom incident goes yes that did really happen I have more better things to do then to make that up. In conclusion I now regret my actions they were immature and disrepectful and no security never talked to me they were looking for the guy video taping. So once again I apologize for my actions. And whenever dennis decides to return I will be determined to apologize to him.

Now THAT'S fuckin FUNNY man. If you loostened up that notched belt any more you'd need to buy new pants.

JY does this every time he opens his mouth on the radio these days. The only exception is he's attacking the same guy every time and doesn't have the balls to do it to his face.

OK, first of all, it's NEIL Diamond. ;-)

And secondly, I think we can cut Dennis, Glen, and Nightbull some slack for losing their collective cool. They're all human, and I doubt any of them are beaming with pride right now.

Yes, did it in front of about 150 people one time at work who looked to me for all the answers, guidance, etc...
Another time in front of about 100 people at church
another time at work (different job) a few times at this job, were I lost it over one or two things in front of other employees or customers.
In all occasions people forgave me, and they realized I was only human and they and I both knew where my breaking point was, and avoided it. And I learned from it.-ERIC

Dennis did not look like a fool
He looked like a guy who was going to kick some ass.
You look like a fool saying he looked like a fool when in reality the fool in the front row was the fool you fool.

BINGO! By starting this thread, you wanted to make Dennis and Glen look like shmucks-when in fact you are-and you were hoping we'd turn on them and side with you. NOT!
You went there full well intending to start shit.

The dope in the audience obviously pissed off both Dennis and Glen royally. They are well-schooled in handling the average heckler. This must have crossed the line for both of them.

I am of a mind to pat both Dennis and Glen on the back for fighting back. Sounds to me like the a-hole was ripe for an ass whipping.

Here is where I feel Thenightbulls story is full of it.

He starts off weeks ago with an Assembly Line stating that Gowan is infinite times better then Dennis. I like the shit out of Gowan. More so than most people here. As a matter of fact I felt that since 1999 he and Glen were the best performers in the band. Still with that said Dennis is much much better than Larry. As a matter of fact the only rock 'star' that I can think Gowan being infinite times better than is Dee Snider.

So obviously he thinks Dennis isnt worth a shit. So now what does our unemployed hero do? He goes out and purchases tickets to a Dennis DeYoung concert.

After procuring these tickets on the day of the show he throws on a Styx 2007 T shirt, stuffs his pockets full of 39cent candy bars from the Piggly Wiggly, hops in Mom's Pacer and has her drive him to the concert. After making Ma fill up her own tank he surprises her with a ticket to the show. What he fails to tell her is that they have arrived three hours early so they can get a front row seat to heckle the leader of the band.

You all know the rest. But what I would REALLY like to know is WHY would he ever purchase tickets to this show.

I think that it is GREAT the way Dennis and Glen handled the situation.

Just because you purchase the tickets, it doesnt give you the right to be an asshole!

The only thing that would have been better is if he would of gotten his ass kicked!!!!

So Nightbull, why did you go to the show??? Why did you act like such an asshole?? What made you think that we would see things from your perspective???

Um, I guess you haven't seen any Styx show at Milwaukee's Summerfest over the years - YIKES, the language and those fingers flipping off those heckling drunks directly from the stage!!! I guess hell can be cold on various days. Oh and I guess you weren't at the Washington County Fair when Styx played there in July 1999. Wow, another cold day in hell.

Oh, I forgot, the members from the band Styx, any version are very professional and let hecklers and drunks keep yelling and cutting them down (and their bandmates and families) , okie dokie!!

Yeah, sorry but......

If you are sitting in the front row wearing a Styx T-shirt at a Dennis DeYoung concert.....a t-shirt supporting the CURRENT line up? The line up that kicked DeYoung out of the band....what do you expect? I know these guys have to act professional and blah blah blah...but honestly, if I were Dennis and I saw a fan trying to get my attention by waving his carrot Styx T-shirt, I'd be pissed as well! If it was a Grand Illusion T-shirt or something to that nature, then it would be different.

Fact is he is pissed at STYX for destroying the legacy

Ashame

Postby BlackWall » Sun Jul 22, 2007 7:59 pm

I think it's ashame that the whole thing happened in the first place.. I do believe that the person was looking for trouble, but what I don't get is why everyone is so rude about his appearance and employment situation. What does that have to with what happened? Yeah, maybe the guy deserved to get the finger from Dennis, but did he really deserve for Dennis, Glen, and everyone here to slam him for his shorcommings; I guess I just don't see why it has to go to that point.

It doesn't. While I might understand calling someone a "fat f*ck" in the heat of anger, I sure as hell don't understand why so many people HERE seem to take great pride in coming up with different ways to insult the guy based on his appearance and current working situation. I guess they think they're being funny. In reality, it's just rude and immature. (Ironically, many of these same people are telling this guy how immature & rude he was for provoking Dennis at his own show - funny that.)

After having spoken to Suite last night on the phone - I think you need to gague who the rude person was based on the perspective of someone who was in the crowd. if you are rude, people will treat you rudely and be rude about you. When you weight 400 pounds and are rude to everyone around you at a concert, you should not be real surprised, when people say rude things about you.

I wasn't there, but I know suite and I trust her. So if she tells me something, I can be pretty sure she is telling me the truth.

OK, I'd really hoped I wouldn't have to explain this, but I guess maybe I ought to.

Suppose you are a regular on this board, a passer-by, or a lurker. Suppose you have never done or said anything to anyone that would cause them to think negatively of you. You're just a fan of the band, or even a regular Joe just living your life. Follow me so far?

Now, suppose you log onto Melodic Rock.com and start reading about a rude fan who gave Dennis the finger who happened to be overweight. Then you read a barage of insults from people who are not Dennis calling this person fat & ugly and making judgements about this person's character based NOT on what he did, but by his appearance. Now suppose you happen to ALSO be overweight and unemployed yourself. You read about ten or twelve different (very insulting) posts which target the very things that you happen to be, yet, you've done NOTHING to merit any attacks whatsoever.

Are the attacks about being FAT and UNEMPLOYED any less hurtful because you weren't the guy who the remarks are aimed at? The answer is a resounding NO.

You're NOT only insulting the guy who did this, people. You're being derrogatory to anyone with a weight problem and anyone who is down on his or her luck, or whose mother works at Wal-Mart.

THAT is what makes it SO rude and immature.

If you want to take shots at the guy for what he did, I have no issue with that. But to dig at him because of what he looks like or what he or his mother does, is wrong. Savvy?

Zan... I think you understand where I was coming from. You make judgments on people based on everything from looks to their actions. It's the human condition. If someone says they don't - then they are a liar. When a person makes rude gestures toward someone who is beloved and is in the company of a lot of people who like them, then that person is going to be a target. Hell - you like to make comments about Suzanne's appearance all the time - so don't give me that.

If a guy is an asshole - and acts like an asshole - perhaps he IS an asshole. And the reason he weighs 400 pounds and has no job and lives with mommy (and likely always will) is EXACTLTY because he is an asshole.
