They should do what SP suggested in the first place. Change their name and perform all they want. They could be... Bad English. :?

I finally caught on to this stuff.
Read the thread title, rolled my eyes and laughed at the idea.

Of course fuck no they aren't. No one would watch. They'd go "Where's the guy with the guy with the nose? He's not in the band anymore? Oh... well I'munna go take a piss... don't eat all those chips, you fucker... you're lucky you got invited after last year..."

ZZZzzzzz...

I like Petty, but come on.

To fire you up at a venue like the Superbowl?

The Stones playing Rough Justice, THAT was a halftime show. Petty playing, what, You Don't Know How It Feels? :?

Have to agree with you. Tom Petty? Zzzzzzzzz
Both great song writers, but there is something about Tom Petty's and Bob Dylan's voices that turn me off.

The fact that any of you actually believed this for a nanosecond is sad!

LOL....

Journey will play the superbowl when the NFL has been reduced to two small town teams. The Salome, TX Armadillos and the Longs, SC Copperheads...

Best idea I've heard yet!!!!! :D

Admittedly, when I saw this post I was in a panic because I thought it was true.
Then I actually opened the post and breathed a HUGE sigh of relief!

I'm a big fan of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers so to me this is awesome news!!!!! Looks like I'm taping it again this year.
