This just in...That buffoon Wade better watch his back! Any time the assistant is making as much scratch as the head coach, the writing is on the wall!

I hate the fucking Fraudboys, but no argument from me there. Landry and Staubach were AWESOME! Jerry Jones firing Tom Landry should have made all Dallas fans hate that nutbag forever! As for not being "sold on Phillips", there isn't much to be sold on. The guy is 0-4 in the playoffs and simply not cut out to be a head coach. For all the grief guys like Parcells, Bellichick, and Coughlin get for being hardasses, most players will tell you those are the coaches they prefer to play for. Hell, you had Roy Williams telling a news reporter that the Cowboys needed a fire lit under them, and this was before the Giants game!

For the record, I'm not someone who thinks Jason Garrett is some savior either. The reality is that the guy has VERY little coaching experience, and why everyone in Dallas is convinced this guy is the next Vince Lombardi is beyond my level of comprehension! He very well may become a great NFL head coach, but there is certainly nothing to base all these lofty expectations on. Good for Garrett for capitalizing on just what people think might be "potential". It's the first time in the history of the NFL that an assistant head coach has the same (and some reports say Garrett is making more) salary as the head coach. I'm sure Phillips isn't remodeling his office in Valley Ranch, any time soon. He knows he's simply keeping the seat warm, for his replacement, who can't jump into his position fast enough.

You'll not find many Cowboys fans that care much for Jones. He's an egotistical, self absorbed, self serving, smarmy worm. He's building this new stadium in Arlington that he's going to get richer off of and the residents of Arlington are footing most of the bill for it. Nothing is more important to that man than money.

I disagree. I think Jerry Jones is a great owner. That guy spends bank to win championships. You can't say that about 80% of the owners in all 4 major sports. I do not fault him for trying.

Jerry Jones is NOT a "great owner"! The guy is the biggest micro-manager in the history of ANY business, and that alone disqualifies him as being "great"! As for the money he spends...it really doesn't mean much in the NFL. There is a salary cap, and most teams spend up to the cap. The only team I've ever heard of not spending up to the cap in the salary cap era are the Cardinals (no shock there, as Bidwell is a dirtbag)! I think the only real credit I would give Jones is for trying to bring in guys like Parcells. The problem is that guys like Parcells can't co-exist for long, with a meddling owner like Jones! What other NFL owner do you see on the sidelines while the game is still being played? It's the craziest thing I've ever seen. I don't think Jones is anywhere near as good for the NFL as he seems to think he is. Team owners should NEVER be the GM! When you look at Jones' tenure as an owner with the Cowboys, the only real success the guy has ever had was a result of the most ridiculous trade in NFL history, when he found someone dopey enough in Minnesota to give him ELEVEN players for Herschel Walker! That one trade was responsible for setting the Cowboys up to win their championships in the 1990's. I'll certainly give him that credit, if he was the GM then! Other than that, the guy is a complete jackass!

Nice to know there are some Cowboys fans who feel the same way most feel about him. As for the stadium issue, I really can't blame any owners for that. The communities they are doing business in CANNOT allow public monies to be used for private sports stadiums. I can tell you that when Bob Kraft built Gillette Stadium for the Patriots, there was ZERO public money that went to finance that stadium. I'm sure Kraft would have gladly taken the public money, if he thought he could get away with it. I think, as a local guy, he knew better, and simply knew there was NO way the taxpayers of Massachusetts were going to approve ANY funds to be earmarked to make a very wealthy man more wealthy. To Kraft's credit, he used all his own money to build that stadium! As big of a sports fan as I've been my entire life, I would NEVER support any public money to be used to build a sports stadium. The only public money that should ever be part of such a proposal are funds for infrastructure, which the city and state should be responsible for.

Well this dick stain held that stadium out like a carrot to all the bigger cities in this area. The city that made the best offer, got it. Dallas, Irving, and Arlington were after it. I guess Fort Worth said fuck it.

No way. Landry overstayed his welcome. You didn't see one other team try to hire him after Jerry fired him, did you? Then the Cowboys went on to win 3 Super Bowls in the '90s. Plus the Herschel Walker trade was brilliance. I hate the Cowboys, but give them props for those moves.

NIG...If you read my post, you'll clearly see that I singled out the Herschel Walker trade as the single most important event that led to the Cowboys winning even one championship, in the 90's! It was an absolutely brilliant trade (unless you're a Vikings fan). Without that trade, Dallas doesn't have Emmitt Smith and Darren Woodson, among many others. Good for Dallas for pulling off the trade. It ranks right up there with Joe-Barry Carroll for Kevin McHale and Robert Parrish (for you basketball fans), and the Dallas trade was even more of a heist, because they got 11 bodies for one!

But you think they should have kept Landry instead of hiring Johnson? Or do you just think they handled it poorly?

Like most things that nutbag Jones does, it was handled VERY poorly! While I certainly agree that Landry was WAY past his prime, the guy EARNED more respect than what he was given! The reality is that even today, as a dead guy, he is the face of the Dallas Cowboys!

Whether or not the Cowboys won after Landry's abrupt and poorly handled departure is moot, most Cowboys fans, including myself, hate Jerry Jones' guts. I do agree that Landry was past his prime, football changed and he didn't. That said, a person like Jerry Jones should treat a man like Landry with huge amounts of respect, publicly at least, if he wants to win the favor of the fans. What he did, jaded his whole Cowboys loving fan base towards him and we remain that way this many years after. I wouldn't shed a tear if he got run over by a steam roller.

The Cowboys were a highly revered team under Landry, but since Jones' arrival, they've fallen way down in the respect category. Sure, Jones has brought them some very successful years, but at what price? It doesn't mean as much when half the country is laughing at us.

All we want is for Jones to hire a good GM and stay the fuck in his suite and watch the game. Not that much to ask.

Okay...It's prediction time!

San Diego versus New England

This game is going to come down to whether or not San Diego's front seven can get to Brady. The Patriots have 3 of their 5 offensive lineman going to the Pro Bowl, because they've been up to the task, all season long, of pass blocking for Brady. It's also going to hinge upon whether or not Tomlinson decides to run(only has 70 yards in his first two playoff games this season). I suspect that San Diego won't blitz much and play a nickel defense the entire game, in an effort to shut down the NE passing attack. I think Rivers saying he is going to play is a dog and pony show. I think you'll see Volek in the game, almost from the beginning. If Rivers plays at all, he won't be finishing this game! Volek can throw the ball a bit (I saw the guy throw for 490 yards one week and 450 the next, when he was with the Titans), so I don't think the Chargers drop off much there. The Chargers have been known for creating turnovers, all season long (48 turnovers this season). The reality is that there isn't a single Patriot receiver or running back who has lost one single fumble, the entire season! Also, I think if the Chargers are waiting for Brady to make endless mistakes, they may be waiting a very long time. I think where this game is won is the QB and coaching positions. I believe the Patriots have a HUGE advantage at both QB and head coach. Brady's win-loss record speaks for itself. Bellichick has 14 post season wins, while Turner, Coughlin, and Mccarthy have 10 playoff wins, between the three of them. I think the weather is going to hold down the scoring a bit in this game.

New England wins it 24-17

Giant versus Packers

This game simply isn't a good matchup for the Giants. The Packers have great cover corners , and a D line who is young but gets some pressure. Also, the Giants secondary is decimated with injuries, which isn't a good thing when you have to cover Grant Jennings and Donald Driver. I also think Ryan Grant has made himself a force to be reckoned with. I also think the matchup between Favre and Manning isn't a close one. Even though Eli has played VERY well in the playoffs, he's still Eli Manning! I think the only area the Giants have an advantage in this game is their D line. Osi, Strahan, and Tuck can get after it, but I just don't think it's going to be enough.

Packers win this one 17-14

Pats over Chargers 35-21

Packers over Giants 21-7

Let the record show that if I'm wrong about the Pats winning....I'll drink 35 beers after the game. Shit...who am I kidding...I'll do that anyway.
