You are mistaken. I think you forgot a guy by the name of Wes Welker! I think the other thing you're overlooking is that one season is never like the next, even if the players are the same. The reality is that if the core team is intact, they should be a better, and more cohesive team, just by virtue of being more experienced. Listen, you don't have to give the Patriots their due. I think we're all pretty okay with the victory, regardless of what anyone else says! That said, they are now THE ONLY team in the history of the NFL who can ever lay claim to 18-0, regardless of who might have more talent!

Let's hope this Patriots' victory didn't send Mercury Morriss over the edge and back to his cocaine habit! That poor bastard is probably crying somewhere right now, along with Dolphins' fans everywhere!

Ok, touche on Welker. But how do you go from losing to Indy, and in my mind at least, you should have lost the San Diego game too, to the best team ever? As you said, one season is never like the next. To me, at least, the difference is Bellichick selling the team on this system. And why not? It's done brilliantly. As I said, JMO.

I know a lot of people hate San Diego. And I can understand that. I used to actually like New England. But I've learned to hate Bellichick. And then eventually the whole team. So I know how that happens.
But you certainly deserve congratulations. You got lucky on a few wins, but so did we. I'm sure most every team did somewhere along the line. But the bottom line is, everyone gave you their best shot, and you've survived.

Did I mention I spent the first 28 years of my life living 50 miles from Green Bay? GO PACK!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!

Thanks for the intelligent comments.

Congrats to the Giants fans. If you get a chance, send Favre your condolences.

It's always difficult for me to ever give ANY NY team credit, for anything! That said, the Giants simply played much better than the Packers did! They had endless opportunities to win the game in regulation, and simply couldn't get it done. I guess on the positive side...I don't have to deal with a two week love fest of Brett Favre! The Giants will be a VERY formidable opponent for the Patriots in the Super Bowl. I gained a whole lot of respect for them, as a team, the way they played the Patriots in the final game of the season! They gave the Patriots their best game of the season, and I have no reason to think round two won't be as good. Looks like another Boston/New York showdown!

The Patriots got the 2 things they needed today...a win and Tom Brady reason to have a chip on his shoulder. The conditions made the vertical passing game difficult today, but Arizona will be just the place to exploit a beat up Giants secondary. Belichick will have a barrage of new looks that Eli Manning will have trouble with and the Patriots will win this one going away. I say 37-17.

No, but we all have to deal with fucking Patriots worship for 14 days. That's a whole lot worse than a Brett Favre love fest.

How in the fucking hell did the New York Fucking Football Giants make the Super Bowl? The Pats might want to take notice. The G-men are no joke. Other than the Dallas Cowbitches and the New Jersey Devils, I can't think of a team I hate more...but I think they might actually have a shot to beat the Perfect Pats

Yeah, the way they played the Pats in Week 17 does nothing but inspire confidence. I don't think they'll win, just because Belichick has 2 weeks to prepare. And I think the Giants are on a roll, and the 2-week layoff will make them lose their focus.

But give the Giants credit for winning 10 road games in a row - an NFL record.

The reality is that EVERYONE has been predicting a "cake walk" in all of the Patriots games for the past two months, when they haven't blown out ANYONE! EVERY game they've played in has been close. I'll tell you this...If Tom Brady plays the way he did against the Chargers, the Patriots WILL LOSE! I think the Patriots have two things that are very much in their favor in this game. First and foremost, they match up MUCH better against the Giants than they did against the Packers. The Giants simply don't have the guys in the secondary to cover all of the Patriots receivers than the Packers have. The other thing is that I simply do not see Tom Brady having another atrocious game like he had against the Chargers. I think the Giants have played too well to lay an egg in the Super Bowl. Even though the scoreboard didn't suggest it, I thought the Giants completely dominated a Packers team that I thought would win the game. I certainly am not predicting the Giants to win, but we shall see!

Other than Driver's 90-yard score, the Giants did a great job of covering the receivers and that was early in the second quarter, which means they pretty much locked those guys up for about 2/3 of the game. Obviously, the Patriots receivers are better than GB but I wouldn't rule out the Giant's DBs from doing an at least adequate job covering Moss & co.

The other thing is that I simply do not see Tom Brady having another atrocious game like he had against the Chargers.

I can't disagree with that but I also don't see him having a career night like he did for most of the first half of the season, either. The Giants can put a lot of pressure on the QB, so we'll see what happens there.
