Red, buddy - please tell me where I can get this scoop. You know I'm always in the mood for some Frankie-bashing. Just don't tell his evil twin brother I'm still lurking on this board.

I've read for YEARS now the Pats' OLine getting its rightfully desrved recognition as one of if not THE best in the game. I remember reading all about that in the leadup to the 2004 Supe when McBiatchTeets appled up (again).

Sorry Joepa...

You can "dispute" it all day long, but it doesn't change what the facts are! You're a VERY knowlegeable sports fan, when it comes to all things Philadelphia, but a Boston sports historian you are not! There are only TWO guys from the 2004 Patriots championship team, who are the same guys starting on the offensive line! There isn't ONE single guy playing on this offensive line that was even on the team during the Patriots 2001 championship season!

Doesn't matter.
Turnover or not, they've ALWAYS had a solid oline since this Brady era began, and it remains more so today.
Granted, it helps to have a qb who has the mental pocket clock in his head, a 6th sense in the pocket for rushers and can read a defense like he's dropping wolfbait on his hopper reading the funnies.

Here are mine:

Favre
Montana
Elway
Marino
D.White/S.Young (Tie)

I couldn't add Aikman to the list 'cause if he wouldn't have had that talent on the O...he wouldn't have won shit. Take a look at our '89 season. He was nothing before Smith and Irvin. Wow...this from a Cowboys fan too.
Now...most of you know that my favorite of all time was Staubach...but I couldn't add him 'cause I was born after his last regular season game. But a VERY Honorable Mention to him. Danny White was a kick ass QB comin' out of Staubach's shadow, though. Throwing up the most TD passes in single season history for the 'Boys. So...he got my vote over Aikman.

Danny White?
Only a Dallas fan could have him on there.

God I might's well put McNabb on if White makes it.

Yeah, Danny White was only above average, at best. I have the 1982 NFC Championship Game on DVD where the Skins crush him and then his backup, Hogeboom. I also have the DVD of the game where he leads a team full of veterans including Dorsett, Drew Pearson and Randy White to a loss on Monday Night Football against a Redskins team made up of 100% scab players in 1987. Great memories that man gave me. :)

I got news, Colonel.

Garcia would've won at least 2 of the 3 NFC title games McBigBoned single-handedly lost as well as the superbowl that he appled up.

And I can't WAIT until new Ravens head coach John Harbaugh makes a play to take his big cottage cheese ass off my hands.

NealIsGod, I'll supply you beer for a YEAR if that loser EVER wins a superbowl.

Oh, BOY is he quick to rip that card out.

Warren Moon paved the WAY for the likes of him without ever so much as whimper of race card.

Shut up and don't choke and people will get off your over-large back. Nothing to do w/ his color. Please, he's from suburban Chicago and private Catholic HS out there, SPARE me.

EXACTLY.
I DO think that Garcia could've really done something with the Pigeons this year if they hadn't let him go to TB. But Philly decided to go with a hyped up hack (now anyway) instead of someone that could've at LEAST hit the wild card this year. The O-Line for the Eagles got very comfortable with Garcia last year...and it was starting to pay off. One more season with Jeff I think they would've been where at LEAST the 'Boys or Packers were this year. INSTEAD....well...you know the rest. Feely (however ya spell his name) did a better job than McNabb in the 1-2 games he was in.

It could work, but it's bizarre to this fan of old-school NFL, the trend of hiring these young guys after hardly any (if any at all in Harbaugh's case) experience as even coordinators.

Harbaugh's a DB coach who's a year removed from Specialites... .

Andy Reid was the trendsetter of this, being Favre/Holmgren's QB coach and getting the Iggles job w/ ZERO coordination experience.

I mean I look at the old days, guys like Bellichick or Holmgren who put in solid YEARS of coordinating good units before getting head jobs.

Had to share this from ESPN's site. What do you Chargers fans think of LT now?

I won't pretend to know whether LaDainian Tomlinson could have kept playing Sunday or not. It's his body, and he knows the limits of his body better than anyone. However, it's inexplicable to me they didn't use him as a decoy for at least one of the ill-fated red-zone plays, injured or not. With that said, if you're allegedly the leader of the team and you can't keep going, how does it help your team to sulk on the bench with your Darth Vader helmet on? Somebody needs to send him the clip of an injured Lance Harbor's work on the sidelines in the championship game of "Varsity Blues." It just seems like we hear a lot of talk from/about Tomlinson and how much heart he has, how much he hates losing, how much of a leader he is, how much he respects the game ... and yet, in consecutive games with his team's season on the line, he was frowning on the bench in Indy and sulking on the bench in New England. Bizarre. And by the way, I don't think we're keeping the real "L.T." out of a championship game unless his legs had been chopped off. I'm just saying.

If news doesn't come out, after the season, that Tomlinson has a serious injury...His reputation takes a HUGE hit, regardless of what San Diego fans say! I'm not going to criticize the guy at this point, because I have no idea whether or not he's injured (although they're calling this a "coach's decision", which is absurd). I just think he better hire himself a good PR guy to put some kind of a positive spin on this, if he isn't really seriously injured!

Hey NIG...

Here is my post about Tomlinson, after I saw him leave that game on Sunday. I find it interesting that some in the media are saying the same thing now! I better NEVER hear one fucking jackass from San Diego, tell me that Tomlinson is the best running back in the history of the game! He wasn't before sitting out the past two playoff games, and he certainly isn't now! I'll tell you what makes the guy look 1000 times worse...the news that Rivers had his knee scoped a week before the game and showed up to play (and I thought he played well). It is ultimately Tomlinson's body, and I do agree that he is the one who has to ultimately decide whether or not his body is up to the rigors of an NFL playoff game! I just think that if he truly couldn't play, the least he could have done was to display ANY sort of life on the sidelines, to give his team the emotional lift it so desperately needed!

Liam...

I have to applaud you for being honest about Aikman. I have ALWAYS believed Aikman to be one of the MOST OVERRATED QB's to EVER play in the NFL! The guy played 12 seasons and only ONE TIME threw for at least 20 touchdowns in a season (he had 23 in 1992)! By comparison, Brett Favre has thrown for more than 20 touchdowns 13 times, Peyton Manning has done it EVERY season he has been in the league, and both Tom Brady and Joe Montana, who are both more well known for winning than they are for putting up big passing numbers (obviously, this season was a bit different for Brady), have both passed for more than 20 touchdowns for 6 seasons! Aikman also NEVER once threw for more than 3500 yards in a season. Considering he had some pretty good receivers around him (Alvin Harper, Michael Irvin, Jay Novacek), these are pretty astonishing numbers, for a guy in the hall of fame! In fact, I'd say Aikman may be the worst QB in NFL history to be inducted into the hall of fame. I watched the guy's entire career, and never once did I think "I'm watching a great, hall of fame, quarterback"! I think if most people actually looked at Aikman's numbers, they would be shocked at just how mediocre the guy was! I think Troy Aikman belongs in the hall of fame, as much as Alvin Harper does!

The only other thing I'll say about your rankings is that you need your head examined if you truly rank Favre and Danny White over Tom Brady! I personally think Brady is better than both Marino and Elway, at this point, but it's at least a good sports debate to talk about that comparison! Brady passed Favre, long ago, when it comes to being a field general, making the right decisions, and winning games! For me, the passing yards are beyond irrelevant! Brady will NEVER play as many years as Favre has played, because he simply has no desire to. I think Favre has been a great player in the NFL, and deserves to be in the hall of fame. That said, among the top 5 QB's ever, he simply isn't in the conversation, in spite of all of his passing yards and touchdowns! I realize that you despise the Patriots, but if you're a true football fan, you have to be honest with what your eyes are telling you! I never liked Dan Marino, but I would never deny that the guy was a great player and belongs in the conversation with the greatest QB's ever!

Actually...I would've added Brady if he'd been in the NFL long enough. There's no real order to my list...just ones that I think were the best in my lifetime most of which are retired with the exception of Favre. I put the tie up there 'cause I couldn't really decide who I wanted there more. Now...ask me in about 5 years for my list...Brady will be up there along with P.Manning and maybe even Romo (if he gets his head out of his ass.) The only reason Favre is up with the retirees is because he's as old as most of 'em.

He's not old. Not in never-neverland. It's still January 1997 there.
I have the Pack over the Pats in SB XXXI...
