Hey Michigan Girl...

I'm glad you had such a memorable experience visiting Boston. I'm obviously VERY biased, but I think it's a SUPERB and VERY unique city! Hey, we produced Steve Smith, so how bad can we be, right?

On another note, it is rather interesting that all of the healthiest places to live are FRIGID states, so you might be on to something. If you look at the bottom states, they're all warm weather states. I know that Florida and South Carolina have always lagged behind many states in healthcare, so that explains why they both rank so low on this list. I'm sure Florida is a wonderful place to be in January, if you're from a cold part of the country. That said, it's the MOST OVERRATED state I've ever visited. It's flat, unatttracitive (unless you're on a beach), and if you're in south Florida, you have to drive 10 hours just to get out of the state! I've spent two weeks in Orlando and two weeks and Tampa and honestly thought Orlando was a shithole! I was somewhat suprised because of the Disney thing (I wasn't there for Disney). I figured a city that is the host to Disney should be a bit nicer than it was! I understand Scarab is from there and loves the place (as well he should). We should all love where we're from. I just don't have any need to be loyal to Florida, and all their thug colleges where majoring in basket weaving is the norm for "student athletes"

I certainly hope your not referring to my alma mater as a "thug" college...you start sending personal attacks at someones alma mater you are crossing the line. When has UF ever shown any sense of wrong doing???? We have tossed out All Americans for behavior. It sounds like a lot of jealousy over the Florida schools when it comes to sports because those NE schools will NEVER compete with these teams....

Who gives a shit, really! Listen, the Giants won the game, fair and square, and the Patriots didn't play anywhere near well enough to win the game! I can assure you that despite this loss, football fans around Boston aren't jumping off of bridges. I've been watching football long enough to understand that ANY team can beat ANY team, at ANY time! That's football! If you don't show up to play, you're going to get beat, regardless of what you're record is!

The Dolphins can have their "perfect season". It doesn't change the fact that they don't rank in the top 10 teams of all time in the NFL, so it really doesn't mean anything! They played nobody, and I suspect another team might have pulled off an undefeated season that year, with that soft of a schedule! This isn't about the Dolphins or the Patriots, at this point! The Giants are world champs!

I will tell you that if anyone really believes the Patriots won't be heard from again, they are beyond delusional! Tom Brady is all of 30 years old, so he's not going anywhere! They'll be back! We'll just have to start a new streak next season!

I'm sorry but the 98 Vikings would have kicked 6 kinds of different dog crap out of the Dolphins.. The Vikings were 15-1 and got beat by the Falcons 14-2 in the Championship game. Anygiven Sunday! The 98 Vikings = 08 Patriots.. Just for the record,I hate the Patriots ! I was screaming when the Giants won,I just hate the Giants less! Patriots = Pussification!

Scarab...

A couple of points here. I can assure you that I have ZERO jealousy over ANY of Florida's college sports programs. I come from a pro sports town, and to be honest with you could care less about college sports. I don't think you'll find 10 people from the city of Boston who really care all that much about college sports. I personally think the BCS system is college football is a fucking abortion and laughable! I can't comment on your alma mater, because I don't know (nor do I care) enough about their thugery! Miami's complete disregard for education, on the other hand, is quite well documented. Even though I really don't care about the "football factories" in Florida, I can tell you that there isn't a guy playing at the University of Miami who could even get accepted to Boston College! See, here's the thing...In Boston, we actually graduate our athletes, and actually make them show up for class! You are 100% correct when you say New England colleges will NEVER compete with schools who allow kids in with 500 SAT scores. I think the larger point you're missing is that schools in New England don't even try to compete with schools like that, because of the premium they put on educating their students.

I will acquiesce to you that Florida and Miami have far more competitive college football teams than schools in New England have. That said, you can take EVERY pro sports team in Florida, and add all their championships up, and you won't have half of what Boston teams have won over the years. I personally rather have a GREAT pro sports city than the abortion of a sports town that Miami is! If it weren't for those old, decrepit 1972 Dolphins, you guys wouldn't have anything to talk about! Too bad your glory days were more than 35 long years ago, and were given to you from a team who only managed to beat ONE single team during the entire regular season who had as many as 8 wins!

One more jab at the Pats.

However, when asked about their favorite parts of the game, most fans chose the Patriots' cocky decision to begin the game with a trick play, which the Giants stopped handily; Bill Belichick's smug third-quarter attempt at a fourth-and-13 conversion, which blew up in his face, instead of trying a field goal; and New England's offensive line, which featured three Pro Bowlers, allowing high-cheekboned, doe-eyed, supermodel-impregnating passer Tom Brady to be hit over 20 times during the course of the game.
