Good to hear, thank you for the "inside info". :)

If I may ask do you guys still work with Fan Asylum? Also, does F.A. have any involvement with the current Journey?

A big THANK YOU, Lora and Cyndy, for sharing your insights in regard to the HH interview.

This is the best and most encouraging news in a long time in hopes that we will hear Steve sing in the near future. I am so excited......................

Marabelle- Think over your statements to Lora. Whatever they say is what info they have been given. It is what Steve wants known now. Have patience. They have always had the inside info. Have faith-believe.

Wow! I almost fell over backwards & knocked myself out reading this post! This also has to be the most written I've ever seen from you both. ;) :) Thanks so very much for sharing your thoughts & this info with us - your word I take over anything else. Tell SP there are a whole lotta of us who aren't expecting anything else but what his heart & soul sings. If he chooses to share or not, at least he has not abandoned his passion for music & we love him always. Hope to see both of you ladies in So Cal sometime at some gig or another. :)

Thanks Ladies for adding you 2 cents worth. I've never doubted that SP could sing. In some interviews that SP has given while he was doing the FTLOSM tour. SP stated that he only releases CD's when he has something to say. That's why it took him so long between his first and second CD. As SP said, he had nothing to say. When SP has something to say he will come out with something. Till then we wait. SP's creative and sings with passion. That creativity can't be stopped. We'll hear from him when he's ready. Not when we are ready. Which is now. As much as I want to hear from Steve and be able to finely watch Steve on a stage. I'll wait because he will come out with something at some time. Thanks again Ladies very much. Tell Steve "Hi"

We have heard him sing.....recently. He has definitely not lost his gift - the ability to touch the listener's heart. There are no confirmed plans for these songs, so we haven't commented on this subject before. It's up to Steve as to when/if he is ready to put new material out. After hearing the demos, we can only hope they will see the light of day sometime down the road.

Thanks for your thoughts on this Lora and Cyndy! Put a huge smile on my face to hear that! Whether he shares them with us or not, it's great to hear he's still singing.

PS....I hope you guys are going to the Y&T/Eric Martin/Mark Slaughter show in SF this weekend. If so...........ENJOY!!!!

I own the David Pack Cd with Steve on it and his voice is as great to listen to as always. I have also heard the song he sings on with Gruff I have always said Steve never lost his voice talent like that voice doesn't turn sour and die......Thanks Lora for letting everyone one know maybe now we can put that silly rumor to rest for good.

Cyndy and Lora -- excellent post, and much appreciated. This whole issue of whether or not Steve can still sing has always bothered me. I couldn't see how he wouldn't at least be able to record new material, and am happy to know that he can, and is, doing so. Really look forward to the day it comes out.

Wishing all of you the best -

For most of the Journey and Steve Perry-loving world, that would be true. However, I believe Lora and Cyndy have gone above and beyond to remain non-biased, at least publicly. It must be SOOOO difficult for them to see and hear people saying such horrible things about Steve Perry, and want to speak out to dispel nasty rumors and flat-out lies. The restraint they show is incredible, I know I certainly couldn't deal with it the way they do.

I believe Lora has once again shown her class and integrity by her comments regarding the HH interview and the demos here, and I am extremely grateful that she is sharing this information with us.

Dave, I am interested in your comment, though. Why do you feel this way?

I thought they were extremely fair and forthcoming. If anything, it confirmed what most of us have suspected -- that he no longer has the Infinity-era range, and that his texture has changed, but that's been evident in the last albums he did with Journey -- quite a long time. Good Lord, the man is what? Near 60? And he looks as good as he does? And he's still singing, even if he's remaining under the radar about it?

It's ok to let our heroes bow out gracefully while they are still at or near the top of their game. Sometimes we keep pushing them for more, more, more, when they don't feel they can give us what we are looking for. I don't know if he feels that way or not, but I have no doubt that he could produce some new tunes which would capture us all. I do hope he does so, but completely respect his desire to take his time, or even to stay off the grid if he chooses.

Right now I want to hear something from Steve Perry that I've never heard before, and I'm lucky I can still do so -- I'm going to take the shrink-wrap off the Infinity disc I bought a few months ago and give it my first spin all the way thru. :P

Lora, first of all, thank you for chiming in. You didn't have to, but it's nice to read.

As far as the demos go... you lucky lil shits. GAWD. Ok... jealousy set aside, it's REALLY nice to hear he's actually recorded demo tracks. He's singing AND recording. I couldn't be happier. True, the public may never hear them, but I'm really hoping that's NOT the case, as he didn't have to let you hear them either. Woof. Back to crossing my loon fingers.

One show Steve...just one. One.

I think whether Steve can still sing a tune is a moot point. It's obvious that he's done.

I feel Journey may be finally on the right track.

The interview brought back many memories of how creative & brilliant he was as a business man.

With that said, many people accept all he says as fact even when it contradicts other credible sources (Steve Lukather, Nuno Bettencourt, David Pack, Joe Benson). HH seems angry because he feels that SP messed up "his formula" and his business model and feels it cost him tons of $$. As "The Force," we were part of that business model and suffered a similar loss as Journey was our primary client at the time. We moved on without bitterness and without playing the blame game. We have kept in touch with some of the Nightmare/Nocturne crew and they also seem to be puzzled by HH's anger after so many years.

We still love Journey's music and are proud of our part of Nightmare & Journey's history.

Lora :) & Cyndy :)

I am sure you are telling us the truth Lora no doubt
But I think the issue here is if Steve can sing live 3 to 4 times a week in a concert setting.
I am sure he can go into a studio and make good music
I am not confident that he could sing in a concert setting right off the bat.
The JRNY door was wide open again and the band could have come together once again but of course Steve gave his speech he is not interested.
I have never seen a singer who has just given up on his career as I have with Steve Perry.
The last thing we have from him is I Stand Alone and that was years ago.

When you think of Steve Perry you think of Journey and thats it.
For whatever reason he wants no part of what has made him a success.
How can you explain that one?
How can you walk away from singing when you are a singer?
I can't think of any other singer who has done what Steve Perry has done.

I remember when I spoke to him on the phone on a Texas radio station and he all but yelled at me when I asked him why he was
playing around with another band instead of JRNY
He used the divorce Senerio with me and I understood that, but as you can see with just about every other band out there a reunion
has happened.
If Van Halen could do it how in gods name can Perry and JRNY not do it?

How can Steve let his legacy be ruined?
All of these copycat singers and he sits and does absolutly nothing.

It makes no sense at all.

Peace Lora

Does my heart good to hear Steve still can sing, I never really doubted it. It's still great to hear from someone in the know instead of all these peeps who claim to know.

For Froy, just let the man be. We don't know anything about him, really. Just enjoy the music you have and pray for more.
The power and passion that Steve Perry has in his delivery is what won me over to be a huge fan.
