Jeff Scott Soto Appreciation Thread

Postby Tito » Wed Jun 25, 2008 3:12 am

This Brooklyn, New York native is one of the hardest working people in music. He’s a 25 year veteran of the industry. After all this time, he has never given up. He just keeps going. This diverse talent can tackle a multitude of genres which allows him a number of opportunities. Some of these opportunities included working with some of the greats in the industry: Neal Schon, Brian May, and Yngwie J. Malmsteen.

His perseverance paid off in 2006, when Neal Schon called in a jam needing a new singer for Journey. Soto stepped right in and did the job only very few could do on such short notice. He helped save the profitable 2006 tour with Def Leppard. This tour gave him his biggest opportunity yet. He played in front of large crowds on a nightly basis and gave him the exposure he so richly deserves. Hopefully, he can parlay that experience into a successful new CD.

Another redeeming quality of Soto is his fan friendliness. He keeps the fans informed and is in constant contact with them. In return, they reward him with loyalty. Although not large in numbers, he has some of the most loyal fans in the business.

For all this we say thank you Jeff Scott Soto for all that you’ve done. Thanks for helping out Journey and best of luck of the new CD and all future endeavors.

As always, if you would like to thank Jeff Scott Soto, now is the time. Also, feel free to contribute to the Jon Cain http://forums.melodicrock.com/phpBB/vie ... hp?t=35500 or Herbie Herbert http://forums.melodicrock.com/phpBB/vie ... hp?t=35564 appreciation threads. Tito had the courtesy to wait until after Jeff's interview to launch his appreciation thread so people could also talk about the interview. I found that very considerate. He knew Soto was the interviewee. Maybe in the not too distant future someone could fire up a Tito apprciation thread.

I can't win with you people. First it's "Why do you hate Jeff." Now it's "Enough with appreciation shit."

Jeff probably needed the appreciation thread the least of anybody with the band as he's NOT been unfairly attacked like others. But, I figured now was a good time for this. Plus, it may serve as an olive branch.

I can assure you that it's sincere. I've seen the "roster" and Tito made sure he included everyone that has contributed to Journey with some sort of relevance. 8)

It means to mock.

Of course 'taking A piss' means to urinate.

Listen Frito-Lay...

I appreciate your positive "We Are The World" bullshit, just like the next guy, but these "appreciation" threads are becoming fucking nauseating! Hell, I think even Jeff would agree! You're quickly reducing this place to Jackass Talk, and I know Drew wants a bit more substance than that place has!
