its what JOURNEY COULD HAVE BEEN ----EDGY!!

Rick

I personally didn't much like the song on first listen, maybe it will take a few more spins - God knows the new Priest album took about five before i decided that it was a work of genius rather than an utter bag of sh!te. All opinions aside though there is probably no way a song like Testify would have ended up on a Journey CD even with JSS in the band. Edgy or otherwise it just doesn't have that Journey sound, nor i'm guessing was it meant to.

Very interesting interview though, a good read. I'm very much looking forward to hearing what Beautiful Mess has to offer.

Absolutely! I'd MUCH rather read ANYONE's "OT" thread about ANYTHING than one "appreciation" thread, after another! It's only a matter of time before Tito rolls out the "red leather pants appreciation thread", and then all the Augeri nutbags will be over here, salivating

I appreciate your positive "We Are The World" bullshit, just like the next guy, but these "appreciation" threads are becoming fucking nauseating! Hell, I think even Jeff would agree! You're quickly reducing this place to Jackass Talk, and I know Drew wants a bit more substance than that place has!

1. These are not nauseating. These are positive threads that detail each person's accomplishments with the band. It started because Cain gets blasted all the time and someone had to give him his props.
2. Jeff would not agree. [NOTE: Fans, I apologize for going here as this is a positive Soto thread, but I need to accurately respond] If he hasn't been embarrassed or nauseated yet by some of his fans' fawning, this thread will not would not do it either.
3. More substance? This is a Journey thread. You're the King of Off Topic. Most which are stupid. Why don't you put your post were they belong, WAY down the road in General Discussion. Would you prefer if my next appreciation thread is OT: Band Member X Appreciation Thread? There are many threads I don't like or have interest in, why don't you do what I do, don't go in them or read. Personally, I can't stand the Single Word Thread (Sorry folks :P ) but I avoid it. Or at least try to. 8)

I agree. But this is Andrew's site and he allows it. I like how NOW everyone wants the rules enforced. That said, then 99% of your threads don't belong here either.

What's with all these gay "appreciation" threads? This place is becoming more like BT by the minute lately.

Merely the collateral damage of no personal attacks and not being able to state facts about artists without getting jumped on and the boss stomping his foot. Personally, I don't mind the threads. Why is it that those that bitch about them even click on them??? No self control, perhaps?

"His perseverance paid off in 2006, when Neal Schon called in a jam needing a new singer for Journey."

BULL! I'd say it will pay off when a comment like that isn't needed.
