Yes, Red13JoePa, "he" wasn't named Singer For Life, but maybe "Singer For Longer Than It Took For The Band to Sober Up And Realize They Just Signed A Contract With Someone" would have been nice. Or, how about this? Don't . . . sign . . . him . . . at . . . all. If he was that horrible, just let him come in, save your asses and your precious tour and then let him go back about his business. Hmm, there's a novel idea.

I just had to save the biggest idiot of all for last - you know this is coming don't you Saint John?

There are several idiots on here, but RedWing, Enigma, myself and SJ aren't among them.
Your presence here increases it by 1 though, you sanctimonious horse's ass.

He was terminated and got, per Neal and others "in the know," commensurate severance pay.
Same thing happened w/ Augeri, an 8-year man and his departure was just as unceremonious and without tear-jerking farewell speeches, banquets and parades. Again contracts aren't permanent in this business.
Difference is when that happened Augeri was the biggest pariah around places like these since Barabas and so the all-business hush hush way he was jettisoned was the funniest thing ever.

And thrice Amen!

For the exact same reason that people constantly bore the shit out of us by bashing the band!!! What's good for the goose is good for the gander, mate. And I have never ever called into question Soto's sexuality, made fun of his appearance, called him "gay" or said anything personal about him. It seems to me that we are the ones debating constructively without name-calling and personal attacks. So we have to stop "boring" you, but you will allow further attacks on the band? Seems odd, eh? And believe me, the personal attacks on the band don't bother me a bit. In fact, posts like stevew2's crack me the fuck up. The dude is funny...hands down. I just don't want to be vilified for being boring...it's just highly hypocritical relative to what the "other side" is doing.

JSS posts here. You will show him some respect.
No other member of the band posts here, but if they did, I would ask the same for them.

My issues with anyone have always revolved around how some people treat others on this board. JSS is a respected member of this forum community.

Please do not continue to argue your point as I will not be swayed 0.0000000001% in my opinion on this subject.

We've done this dance before but we won't be doing it any further.

I would like to compare Jeff to Perry or any other singer in this Journey section of the forum if the mood takes me, because it is human nature to compare. Why is that a problem?
If discussions are kept courteous and are not baiting, and other people's opinion's are respected, why is it even an issue? Just because SJ and Tito say so?

Also, even if Jeff was only Journey's singer for one week, he was still a member of Journey. Therefore discussion about him is not off topic in this forum - in my opinion.

If anything is to be outlawed I think it should be shit stirring. Veiled or otherwise.

I know what you mean Susie,,, but I didnt say we can not discuss Soto here, like Tito suggested few weeks ago..... I am just saying that we will discuss him here like we always have,,, but should the need arise for him to be compared to any singer/artist , we will do it in JSS section.... We gotta have some incentives for SJ&Tito to have a valid negotiation ,,,, 8)

Good luck in controlling that, mate!
When we all get on a roll there's no stopping us baby! And for those of us who 'feel' a voice as much as we hear it, JSS is going to be compared to Perry. It's unavoidable.
I just think if we keep things humorous, and gently poke fun at each other when opinions differ, it makes this place fun. And it stops the fights [to a certain extent.]
SJ has a great sense of humour, but he hasn't expressed it much lately. Something is bothering him.
It's either lack of beer or lack of female attention. Or both!

My new motto is "BEING WITTY IS BETTER THAN BEING SHITTY."

Absolutely incorrect as far as I'm concerned. He comes to Chicago and I'll be there. I just won't be swooning around like a 15 year old mesmerized at a Justin Timberlake concert!!!  :P

Behshad wrote:But most importantly , we dont give a damn, cause we are his fans and we will listen to his music, go to his shows and remain loyal to him. Just please, please dont let that bother you that much. Its not worth it....

Remaining loyal to him shows that you're true fans. Good on you. That doesn't "bother" me in the least. The problem I had were the lofty comparisons to people with legendary catalogs. I have never spoken ill of Soto on this board or engaged in personal attacks against the man. I have produced opinions wrapped around facts and figures and have engaged in debate without calling the man one single name or questioning his character.

POST OF THE WEEK!!!!!!!

AMEN!!!!

Pity the rest of the post was just another heated rambling from yet another JSS fan (likely female with I love JSS/JSS Rocks or God forbid the prerequisite 'Me and JSS' picture in their avatar) punching keys two forums above their weight. It's not as much about the music as some peoples need to defend 'their man' against any form of criticism. Its getting really old fast as pretty much every interesting topic inevitably turns into a thread about JSS which then seems to turn everything sour.

Now I like JSS and DO think some of the criticism is often unnecessary and repeated ad nauseam. Its just that everything is getting to be very predictable and I'm no Nostradamus!

A to the MEN. Funny how Cain gets destroyed, absolutely destroyed in the Island thread. Yet, no one, including the site owner has one issue with the constant 'gay' attacks on him. But someone mentions JSS's lack of American record sales...oh my look out! You've just sleighed the Messiah! Most likely because Cain has never befriended them like JSS has. Which is fine. But a double standard is just that. A double standard.

Ok, then what do you call those comments in this thread.....on his clothes, moves, hair and how much he sweats? :?

I should have said "physical appearance" apparently. My bad. His clothes were ridiculous and I apologized to the man when he said Journey had a consultant dress him. Scratch that one of your list.

His "moves" seem scripted to me. That's neither a cheap shot nor a personal attack. Scratch that one off of your list as well. And I can't stand when Arnel throws the fucking mic in the air, either. It's dumb.

I've never said a word about the man's hair in a negative light. He has a full head of hair that most 40 year olds would die for. Nice try. I commented on the way he runs his hands through it every 10 seconds...just as annoying as Arnel saying "Eh!!!" and "Come on!!!" every 20 seconds throughout his first few shows.

Lastly, if the man sweats he sweats. I never commented on that. It was the "sweat tosses" that I found to be somewhat odd. In other words, the need to actually propel your sweat in a given direction. Seems a bit pointless to me.

Oh, pardon Journey fans in a Journey forum for liking a Journey sounding cd. Please accept our apologies. We would have been better off with our ears bleeding with 12 different songs like "Winds of Freedom". If you don't like it. There's a nearly vacant JSS forum. Go use it, I'm sure he'd appreciate the traffic. If more of his fans would focus on him instead of bashing Journey, he'd probably be better off.
