Anyway................
We enjoyed the Nissan gig very much. My wife and I were sitting 6th row in front of NS, and it was a good crowd. (Huge turnout - over 18,000 I'd estimate...)
CHEAP TRICK was very good , as usual - Zander's voice was strong as ever and I loved the fact they did obscure oldies "Oh Claire" and "C'mon C'mon".
I could have wrung HEART's soundman's neck though. He cranked the volume after Trick's set and it was completey unnecessary. They were too loud and overbearing - shame because Ann and Nancy were both in incredible voice.... with what you could make out through the volume and distortion. (The only time you could hear them clearly was on the mellower arrangements for tracks like "These Dreams" and "Alone".)
JOURNEY, as it appeared to us, is doing their best to kill the "Golden Goose". Pushing their schedule the way they do, it's no wonder Arnel has been sick for a week and showing vocal strain. (There is no reason to do 4-5 shows a week. Lighten the schedules a bit and maintain his voice/longevity. Foolish move since they plan to book dates again in early '09 and keep the ball rolling immediately.) The band also suffered from poor sound issues early in the set, and Cain and Schon seemed to be "phoning it in". Then about mid set, things picked up and Arnel also got warmed up. His voice on "Separate Ways", "Faithfully", and "Wheel In the Sky" was spectacular. He finished the last hour very strong and basically made the other band members rise to the occasion. Very impressive showing for him, being new to the concert trail.

Making modern music
Can still be open-hearted
Not so coldly charted
Its really just a question
Of your honesty..."
