Um...the guy YOU voted for kept FRIENDS OF MINE in harm's way by not even ensuring they were supplied with adequate armor the first five years.

The big difference is if anything in the short term Bush has suffered politically for it. I'm sure he'll reap the benefits when history is written.
I didn't ask you about Bush. I asked about what Obama did. What do you think about that mister fiscal conservative??? Chicken shit. You can't defend the indefensible.

Read it for yourself. Obama's campaign issued a denial and confirmed that it was true.

new york in play? according to who? fox? michigan and pennsylvania are a toss up, but obama does have a slight lead in both states according to rcp. florida..... well..... remember 2000? not much hope there, but it is close.

You see, I actually agree with you, if the comment wasn't taken out of context. The problem is, when people predominantly lean in one direction, this forum tends to polarize. I've proven time and time again that's not my game.

Listen, these guys talk all the time, and say so many things to so many people, that they're bound to misspeak or put their foots in their mouths. McCain has done it just as often.

No I wouldn't...I cheer RIGHT and CONDEM wrong...I have repeatedly, along with several others...BLASTED the President on issues we thought he was wrong on. Have you EVER said ANYTHING negative about Senator Obama?? Just once??

What about the truce we all called a few days ago??? It was fairly civil for a bit, and we actually discussed ideas, not any of our personalities...I think we ALL need a rest from the negative bullshit.

Our country is having a rough time, not as bad as the left would have use believe nor as good as the right, we need to pull together to get through the rough patch, not scream at each other about who is worse than whom.

Lets ALL of use take a moment to reflect and figure out how we can AGREE on things, and let the negative go away for a bit.

"misspeak"? Directly lobbying a foreign government which is a felony is "misspeak"?

stu wants some touchy feely team building exercises

from the article-
Obama insisted that Congress should be involved in negotiations on the status of US troops - and that it was in the interests of both sides not to have an agreement negotiated by the Bush administration in its "state of weakness and political confusion."

i know you guys see it one way and i see it another, but to say obama is purposely putting troops in harm's way to benefit politically is absolutely absurd.

and you know damn well you wouldn't be able to hand dean his ass!!!

this is what a wrote a few pages back-

as for the withdrawl from iraq comments. i don't know about strategy in war or occuaption, but what i heard from a retired general about this was that the negotiations for withdrawl should be with the admin that will be over-seeing the action. it seems to me that w and his team of inadequates should not create the plan if they are not involved with the action. this goes for an obama or mccain admin..... but we know mccain will stay there until he can declare victory..... and he'll pay for the continued occuaption how?, by lowering taxes

Happened all the time! I believe I used this quote about him in the past, "He up and disappears like a fart in the wind". Which he later admitted when he loses an argument he abandons rather than admit he was wrong. Too tired to look all that up though. :D

Lula is ALWAYS nice. She and I disagree mightily on politics but we (and Dean and I) have a bond of friendship that transcends politics.

And Lu, you and Dean and Wyatt are ALWAYS welcome here to stay as long as you like you know.

i can agree with you on the first part, but i disagree on how he did it. as far as "but we know mccain will stay there until he can declare victory" would you rather us leave today and having our kids or grandkids come back there someday? do we want to risk iraq to be another afghanistan?

Grenada was over in a day...1 day.

A good friend of mine in the Marine Corps was there.

We were in and out.

You have brought up Grenada a couple of times, it was a very minor battle, so I am wondering why?

Seriously, Stu. I was just kidding. I mean, I was making fun of myself (my "liberal alter ego") in that there is obviously NO similarity between Iraq and Grenada other than they both have one "r" in their names.

i think the conflict in afghanistan would have been resolved by now had bush not stretched our military so thin. our invasion of iraq has caused more problems than it has solved. i know saddam was a horrible man and i'm glad he is no longer able to inflict his wrath, however; he was not an imminent threat to the U.S. by any means. this whole war on terror that bush started should have stayed focused on catching bin laden. there will be no victory in iraq, the damage is done.
