Obama's position is hardly perfect, but it's a better plan for the long haul.

if your boss gives you raise in your job from say 10 dollars to 20 dollars and hour one year and then two years later say, sorry pal your pay is going down to 13 bucks an hour - you d be mad, even if the boss says , well you made 10 dollars back then so you are still better off. Same as the income tax rate going back to the same level as it was under Reagan . ( Plus dont forget Reagans biggest tax win was in the last two years of his presidency 1986 - most of his term he said that rates were too high.)

Plus OBAMA will also reverse the CLINTON TAX cut - which was reduction of capital gains taxes made in 1996 and of vital importance in spurring growth

No I am absolutely acknowledging that. The 1932 Revenue Act increased the top marginal rates from 25% to 63% and deepened the depression by almost doubling unemployment. Go read about it.

Well, it looks like the deal is just about done. It shouldn't be long now before that short, old fuck McCain steps in front of a podium to declare to the American people that he is ready to get back to campaigning. Stu...are you still predicting that a whole one day off is costing McCain the election?

From Senator Reid. Leader of the party of the little guy. Feeling pain at the pump??? Screw you.

Reid to Renew Oil Shale Ban, Deny Americans Vast Energy Resources During Economic Crisis

09/25/2008 - 12:46:53 PM

We've just been alerted that despite House Democrats relenting on extending bans on offshore drilling and oil shale in the continuing resolution (CR) appropriations bill, Democrat Senate Leader Harry Reid has decided to sneak an extension of the oil shale ban through as Congress fights over the financial bailout. Oil shale in America's West is estimated to hold be between 800 billion and 2 trillion barrels of oil -- that is more than three times the proven oil reserves in Saudi Arabia alone.

Here is the text of Reid's proposed new ban on oil shale, that he is trying to add as an amendment to the CR or move seperately as a "stimulus" package, or we should say an anti-stimulus package if this is included.

Sec 1602 continues ban on oil shale. The language follows:

SEC. 1602. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, including section 152 of division A of H.R. 2638 (110th Congress), the Consolidated Security, Disaster Assistance, and Continuing Appropriations Act, 2009, the terms and conditions contained in section 433 of division F of Public Law 110–161 shall remain in effect for the 19 fiscal year ending September 30, 2009.
It would be an insult to all Americans if Senate Democrats worked to bailout Wall Street while damaging our future prosperity by banning development of vast energy reserves in oil shale.

T. Boone Pickens, former swift boat financier and oil tycoon, has said he has faced more resistence going up against the drill-only Republicans then the Dems.
Oil shale is not the answer.

Neither is wind power or solar power. We should ban those too???

Changing topic just a bit, Bill Clinton seemingly half- endorsed McCain today by:

1- Had him at his Clinton Global Iniative as a key speaker , giving him a warm intro
2- Defended him on the debate delay thing
3- Said that Dems were more at fault for Fanny Mae obstruction.

This is all in a few days. If he is running his mouth more intensely in private (I bet he is ) he will be doing Obama some real damage. Could be some entertaiment from Bill as he tries to sink the good ship Barry O over the next month.

The Clintons want Obama to lose. They're trying to sink him without looking like they're trying to sink him.

I'm not sure I understand why. Just a few days ago, he was talking to someone on TV about how he feels Obama can do a better job than McPain...

Well, for starters, the Obama campaigned portrayed Clinton's harmless "fairy tale" comment as being racially charged. And then the media, with the exception of maybe two shows, proceeded to play that comment out of context for remainder of that week's news cycle.

Do you like Hillary's chances in '12 or '16 better? She's aiming at running in '12. How old will she be in '16?
She was next in line. Early in the primary she spoke of how she felt she was gonna be the nominee.

Clinton is no longer leader of the party without him or Hilary in charge. They wanted 8 more years then to hand off to him. Instead Baraks troops spit in his face (Father Phleger on down) didnt listen to him , was mean to Hillary, wouldnt pay their campaing debts, has been acting like he new better than Clinton all along. Plus the Clintons never hated McCain.

This is the wildcard in the election- How effectiveLY can Bill depose Obama in a back handed manner to set up a Palin vs Clinton contest in 2012 (Mcain will only do one terms) . Hes not dumb and people listen to him, and hell make headlines.
That woujld swing SW Pennsyvania, MIchigan and Colorado.

I dunno....while I understand that line of thinking....this is assuming McPain is going to have a bad 4 year run as president...Given the whackiness of the past 8 years...I hardly think anyone can bet on a political climate that will be sympathetic in 4 years. It's a weird chance....

but I guess it makes sense....

Anybody else hear about this one?

Rep. Alcee Hastings from Florida wrote:"If Sarah Palin isn’t enough of a reason for you to get over whatever your problem is with Barack Obama, then you damn well had better pay attention," said Hastings. "Anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks. So, you just think this through."

Just heard an interview with Couric and Palin....Ummmm....

She could barely put 5 words together....if tripping over your words is a criterium for VP, she's got it made....

Wow, living across the Bering Straight from USSR qualifies her for VP....I live across from a school...I'm going to go apply for a fucking job as a teacher tomorrow!

Whether you're pro-Palin or not, it doesn't change the fact that she is a DREADFUL interview. She's worse than W. in front of the camera, which is frightening! I don't believe that I've ever seen a policitican more uncomfortable than she appears to be, every time the mic is on! It's at least quite clear why McCain is doing everything in his power to keep this woman away from microphones! As much as I hate Biden, I suspect he is going to rip this woman to shreds, during a debate!

This is assuming he doesn't say something completely stupid like FDR was president during the stock crash of '29 or that FDR went onto TV that night.

Sorry, while I will concede that Biden might 'appear' more composed than Palin...all it takes is for him to let lose one of his completely idiotic gaffes, and he's toast.

The VP debate will be interesting to watch....but not for any other reason than to watch both candidates try to saddle their respective public speaking 'weaknesses.'

Frank...I agree that Biden is a dope. Didn't he also plagiarize something back in the early 80's??? However, Puppet Palin has trouble actually putting a sentence together. The more I listen to the woman, the more convinced I am that she has a box of rocks in her head! Also, how fucking moronic is McCain looking now when the old nutbag just said a week ago "The fundamentals of our economy are strong", as we border on a depression! I can only hope that someday in my life we have a single competent politician to vote for!

No argument...McCain's actions regarding this 'bailout' has destroyed any chance of me voting for him. I'm officially in the same boat you are. No one's getting my vote. Biden's a complete idiot...McCain is a lying scumbacg...and well, my opinions on Obama are well documented here....

Palin's the only one I don't have a strong negative feeling about right now....but I think the recent interview with Katie Cuntrag greatly diminishes my opinion of any fortitude I once thought she had.

Man, tough few days for your side. The Dems were handed their very own piggybank (Fannie/Fred) to facilitate the policies of their dreams..ie homes/cars/bigscreens for all. They blew the whole wad by giving EVERYONE AND THEIR BROTHER a bad loan, and cronies sweetheart deals, which apparently has now threatened to Bankrupt America. Now Bush is trying to shut it down with taxpayer money (ugh), heavy oversight and crushing a blow to Liberalism at it's finest or worst, depending on your point of view.

Other than that, hows your day been going.

Yeah, it couldn't be that 2.5 trillion that Bush has spent chasing bin Laden.
