it's one of my favorites too. i especially love the end of the song where steve pauses slightly before the third "falling," then neal echos those notes about 20 seconds later - devastatingly beautiful.

I never get to hear the rain on this track either because it's always raining for real here.

Wait-you guys might want something too...

As much as I love "Its Still the Rain" I truly feel that "Still They Ride" is his strongest vocal performance. yes I have heard Mother/Father- and it is very good - however, Still they Ride really shows his vocal power.

So many to choose from it should be the top 5. For me it is Winds of March Largo 1979 or 1980. Anyone have it to share?

Of course I think it is SP and I will post some YouTube clips to back up my choice - but I just wondered what everyone else's choices would be.
Just curious.

Mother Father and Still They Ride are both awesome examples of his talent. I think.
I always marvel at his voice when I hear these.

It's hard to give examples to people who have never heard of him though.
Easy to choose your favourite song sung by him, but to be objective and pick out his best vocal performance isn't so easy. Strangely enough, I'm not a big fan of Winds Of March. But it's the song I'm not overly fussed about. His vocal on it is fab. But because I don't care for the song, I didn't think to include that in my samples for them on the other forum.
Whoops.

Well geez Cyndy can't you help a girl out on the name of the song I'm trying to figure out?

It has to be more than 20 years ago and it's a group and he's singing along with the lead...

I thought Ambrosia but may be not. If anyone should know; you or Lora would be the ones!

If you like early, early Perry/Journey better and his notes that attract small animals , then there are too many of those to even list.

Definitely Mother Father. His voice is amazing on Mother Father. Also Winds of March is perfection, simply stunning. And Still They Ride is just absolutely one of my favorite songs. To me it's one of his best vocal performances.

Besides Perry, one of the other song writers on this tune was Bill Mumy (Will Robinson from Lost in Space)
