I might have to correct myself when I said that only one movie scared me?

I've never really thought of it as being a horror movie, but to this day if I swim in the ocean I can't help but think about Jaws. It never scared me while I was watching it, but when you go in the ocean that's when it plays with your mind.

28 weeks later was a big dissappointment. I can't believe that a code red or maximum security facility would allow a visitor inside the premises. not to mention, left unguarded without a watchman or cameras and with no secured barriers or doors. in reality, such facility have a series of doors, swipe cards, handprints, ID and eye scanners, codes, inorder to access a particular department. that certain movie flaw was a real boo boo and signifies the failure or any sense of purpose of the film. stupidity in a massive level caused another outbreak. man, I feel more secured being in prison talking to a convict behind a safety glass and a jailguard behind me rather than being in that facility with all those guards in some mumbo jumbo space suits who were taking a piss or a nap while all hell broke loose.

When A Stranger Calls was completely ripped from Black Christmas.
I enjoyed both movies.

God no. Everyone told me how great Blair Witch Project was and ... "you HAVE to see it!!!" I never listened to any of those people again after that. That movie sucked serious ass. When I heard of the sequel I thought "you're kidding me right? another one?" No thanks.

A few years back, MGM started putting out "Midnite Movies Double Feature" DVDs, with all those old movies like The Premature Burial, The Tomb of Ligeia.... The Comedy of Terrors with Vincent Price, Boris Karloff and Peter Lorre is great, that's what got me started buying some of those.

I had always wanted to see the original When A stranger Calls, but I wound up seeing the remake first. I then saw the original and I was disappointed in it. I thought the cop was the only actor in the movie that did a good job. And I can't get the image of Carol Kane as Simpka out of my mind.
I think the problem is that the first one is so outdated. You had to see it in 1979 or right around there. It pre-dated Caller ID. Trust me, at the time it was scarier than shit!!!

Check out the Wrong Turn sequel.
One of the best incestuous cannibals run amuck films of all time.

Really? Wrong Turn was a great flick. Didn't know they made a second.

Check out Wrong Turn II. Starts out with Kimberly Caldwell of American Idol fame. Doesn't take long to figure out whats in store.

I thought that was the best part of it. Didn't care for the sequel much at all, yet the original was very well done. Those inbred cannibals were C-R-E-E-P-Y!

I remember watching Session 9 Halloween night my Junior year of college... it was pretty good. The Others was somewhat entertaining as well.

I absolutely LOVE Horror flicks but I am not very good at "best of" lists. I have not been scared by a movie since the Exorcist though. What I learned at an early age was to watch horror flicks with someone who scares easily...that way their reactions scary me. The first time was Friday the 13th. When Jason comes out of the lake...my DAD jumped and that did me in! Then I remember watching Exorcist III, a pretty good flick, but there are 3 suspenseful moments in the movie that totally freaked out the friend I went with. Now I try to get my wife or son to watch because they both scream.

The Messengers was good.
Darkness Falls totally did my wife in.
I recently watched the entire Freddy series. 1, 3 and the New Nightmare are the best.
Halloween is classic. Didn't care too much for the update/remake.
Hellraiser is a classic and Bloodline was a decent sequel.
One Missed Call, the original, was good.
Alien, in fact that is a pretty solid series.
The Mist
I like the remake of Day Of The Dead.
When I was a kid I went to see American Werewolf In London because I thought it was a comedy. Well, the only funny stuff was what they showed in the ads. The rest scared the crap outta me.

I truly think supernatural suspense films are so much better than the flat out horror flicks. And the excessive gorefest films (Saw, Hostel, Captivity) are fun but not all that good. But I watch them ALL. And this IS my favorite time of year!!

You sure you don't mean the hit remake of 'Dawn' ?
The Day remake, which should've ridden the coattails of Dawn to box office success, was dumped straight to Blockbuster.
