HAHAHAHA!!! Bullshit..."A man who Barrack Obama doesn't know very well..."

He knows him well enough for Ayers to give Obama $50 MILLION to handout when he was the Community-Organizer-In-Chief.

Though it doesn't matter...Obama is going to win in walk...

This has already been THOROUGHLY proven COMPLETELY wrong.

Unbelievable, what the Republicans are willing to do in order to get their people elected.

She is an ASSHOLE.

She uses the media to deliver her hate-filled message that is TOTALLY FALSE.

But asking her which newspaper she reads is a "gotcha" question from a left-wing conspiratorial journalist.

Never mind that Couric edited the crap out of her interview with McCain in order to not make him appear an idiot.

Yeah, it's a fucking conspiracy.

Anyway, I've already posted proof that her own constituents generally do not like her. And plus, she's a racist...

Thank you, 7wishes. I keep being accused on here with obsessing with Sarah Palin. I'm obsessed with her being VP and possibly President. Everybody here seems to be very comfortable this woman, who was an embarassment in interviews, did fine in the debate by using talking points and not directly answering or repeating memorized lines, and using bad slang English to boot and proud of it and winking and using the term Joe six-pack in a debate between two candidates vying for the position of Vice President of the United States. I just don't get it. And seem to want to compare her intelligence and capabilities to Obama's, which there is no comparison to be made. Please.

More bullshit here...Bill Ayers got $50 million for the Annenberg Challenge, headed by Obama. The two of them are thick as theives.

You are not being intellecually honest 7.

You hate Sarah Palin so bad you have no objectivity left.

Again though it doesn't matter. Obama wins in a landslide. No one really cares about the truth anymore, not the politicians, not the electorate, no one.

It's very sad that Obama will be elected because of the fact he is opposition to President Bush, not because what he says is true, or what he will do will actually help anyone. It is typically American though.

Myopic American's who can't see the forest through the trees.

While I remain unimpressed by her and would not like to see her 2nd in line to a heartattack, I think there are better ways of expressing opinions here.

She has the highest approval rating of any governor in the US right now at around 80%...her constituents don't like her? Hitting the bong again dude?

She's RACIST? You believe an UNAMED person who CLAIMS she heard Palin utter something about Obama when it was clear he would win the nomination.

I heard you are a misogynist and a sexist...but I don't believe it anymore than I believe Palin is a racist.

I've heard it said here that anyone who votes for Obama should be summarily deported, shot, or electrocuted.

Baseless, vicious rumors without any factual validation are accepted by the Right here as absolute truth. Conversely, any accusation that Palin is anything less than brilliant and hyper-qualified leave the poster ridiculed and slandered.

I've never said ONE bad thing about McCain, other than I believe he has not voted his conscience the past two years or so. I don't buy any of the attack ads with former veterans - even though, unlike the Swift Boaters, the former soldiers criticizing McCain actually SERVED with him...unlike those who went after Kerry in 2004.

Point that out when it occurs and I'll take similar action. I've read maybe 10 of the 80 pages here.

Obama has been labeled:

Arrogant
a Communist
a Socialist Pig
a Moron
Sexist
Stupid
Retarded
a Terrorist Sympathizer
Anti-American
a Liar
a Cheat

Among other things, on this board.

Keep that in mind before you (i.e. the neo-conservative faction) assail me for my disdain of Palin. I just thought she was deadweight and innocuous until she started on her latest rhetoric...the "palling around with terrorists" speech is vile, untrue, and disgusting.

Obama talks about the issues; the McCain campaign (not the Senator himself) is, in true Rovian style, conjuring up the ghosts of elections past (Swift Boat "Veterans," Willie Horton) in its desperation. I can only pray it doesn't work and America isn't hoodwinked into another four years of neo-conservatism (as opposed to the ideal of fiscal conservatism).

I'll take back the "idiot" and "shitty person" comments. But she is a hate-monger. And I don't think she's particularly altruistic if she continues to use the same old smear tactics Rove has perfected the past 20 years.

I've labeled him a socialist AND arrogant. I also think he is a liar due to the fact he sat in Mr. Anti-America's church, Rev. Wright, for 20+ years and claims to never have heard him utter anything racist or anti-American.

Go Rays.

Oh, a long time Rays fan, huh?

There is no such thing.

There are "fans" who have jumped on the bandwagon this year. Before that, the team drew about 12,000 per game.

I LOVE the team, and don't respect the "fans". You go to see your team whether or not you're winning.

Anyway, it should be a hell of a series. Six games, minimum. Terrific matchups.

There is such a thing, AND there won't an 86-year wait for a title.
I have been a part owner of a condo on St.Pete beach (15 minute drive to the Trop) for as long as the Rays have been in existence. Three baseball hats, 2 jerseys, and many t-shirts should prove enough evidence to define me as a Rays fan. When I'm there in April, I usually attend 4-5 games. Sure there are the local fans, but as you alluded to, the majority are uprooted retirees that are secondary fans...those primarily made up of Yankee/Red Sox devotees.
Rays in five.

Heh heh.

Cool deal - you're a true blue, then.

Anyway, I think the Rays are a slightly better team - it's balanced off by their inexperience and youth, and the fact the Sox are seeking their third title in five years. I don't see it going any less than six - you guys will have to contend with Matsuzaka, Lester, and Beckett twice apiece.

Lowell is out, Beckett's banged-up and the Rays are healthy.
The Rays who have home-field advantage, are 8-1 against the Sox at home AND took 2 of 3 this month at Fenway.

Check your math...If it's going to last five games, how can the Rays face all three twice?
I'll take Shields, Garza, & Kazmir everyday...Sonnanstine is a nice 4th option. Young fireballer David Price could easily start as well.

I think October's different. Hey- isnt baseball so much better than Presidental politics :D ... someone clearly wins and someone clearly loses and the other side can't moan for four years why they should have won. :D :D We'll see what happens :!:

It was 100% political granstanding and embarrassing! If the guy quietly went to Washington and didn't hold press conferences about it, I would feel very differently. Every stump speech he has been on since that time has involved McCain screaming out "I suspended my campaign". In my opinion, it makes the guy look pathetic.

A couple of points here that fans of Tampa Bay baseball don't comprehend, because of their pathetic history! First and foremost, it couldn't be less relevant what Tampa's record was against any team during the regular season. The Red Sox played the Angels 9 times during the regular season and lost to them 8 of 9 games! Also, the Angels had home field advantage in the series that just ended. How did that work out for them?

Now, onto your larger point...I actually agree that the Red Sox are crawling and limping into this series. In my opinion, the Devil Rays (or whatever they call themselves this week) have the better lineup and pitching staff. I love their pitching staff, and think they're good enough to beat any team. Given the health of the Red Sox, the Rays should win this series in 5 games, max.

My final point is 7's point about Rays' fans. I couldn't agree with him more. While you may be one of the 10,000 that went into that AWFUL dome to watch a baseball game each night, it doesn't change the fact that the entire state of Florida has some of the worst sports fans in the country, and always has! Florida fans rank up there with Atlanta fans and Los Angeles fans, as the worst this country has ever had!

Well, every team who makes the tournament has a "chance". That said, you're 100% correct that I thought the Angels would win this series. They were the best team in baseball all season long, and have a lot more talent than the Red Sox have. I guess I didn't take into account the choking aspect. Oh well, on to beautiful Florida, and that shithole excuse for a baseball park!

-Waiting eleven instead of eighty-six years is pathetic?...ok  It took some time, after a previous bad clueless ownership, to have their prospects develop. Part of the expansion process.
-The home record is relevant...it will play in their minds, they know their opponents step it up at home.
-You would also think with all the sell-out games at Fenway, they'd figure out how to erect more seating.
-I couldn't give a rat's ass about the other Florida fans...the less fans, the better seats for me. I'm there for myself.
-There's a new beast in the east (that didn't have to settle for a cheesy wild-card spot...the worst thing to happen to baseball). Start getting used to it...that is, as long as they can afford to keep the team together.
-I thought Cleveland fans were the worst.

Absolutely NOT! My stance on Manny has never and will never change. He's the best right-handed hitter that I've seen in my lifetime. He's also a first-ballot hall of famer. It doesn't change the fact that the guy is a shithead for a teammate. I played a lot of organized sports growing up, and would never want a guy with Manny's attitude as a teammate. I never said the guy wasn't talented. He's an immense talent, and always has been. I simply don't respect players who mail it in, when they don't feel like playing for the team they're under contract to, any longer. If you need any proof that he quit on the Red Sox, I'd suggest looking at his numbers while he was with the Red Sox, and then his numbers with the Dodgers. Manny should be embarrassed that he tanked it the way he did!
