Put the whole quote out there Jana. Don't parse it. The way you cut the quote it is out of context and wrong. Not only that it is completely wrong.

"Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending them out on a task that is from God,"

That is the whole quote...She is saying ask God to bless our troops and that what we are doing is right.

Obama was a well spoken street hustler in a suit. What's so fucking great about that? He's a senator in Illinois for the same reason Carol Mosely Braun was...any decent black candidate is going to carry well over 90% of the black vote in the Chicagoland area (and a few votes from people that are dead!). That alone is just about enough to assure victory. For the most part, blacks in urban areas vote like whites in rural ones...based on skin color. Obama hasn't accomplished a fucking thing...ever. Unless you consider sitting on your hands during anti-semitic, racist sermons for 20 years an accomplishment.

If we build enough to make us energy independent it certainly will...I doubt it will happen by either candidate...but in the scope of his statement he is right...

The plants and all the infrastructure to support them will create a million jobs easy...

Saint John, I can't even respond to such remarks. It's over the top. Your dislike for Obama and your lack of respect for him reminds me of my intense dislike for Bush these last eight years. I have zero respect for Bush. So I understand you on that level and the intensity of your feelings. I just disagree. Peace.

You can't respond because you can't Google misquotes from Liberal hate groups fast enough or correctly.

Get a life Jana. Really, TNC, 7Wishes and others at least do some research and quit spouting the liberal groups talking points.

Stu, for once I agree with you....all I ever see in threads like these are citations. To which people who don't agree always claim reliable source this...Daily Kos that....

Myself, I can't stand citations. Why? Because it isn't original thought. We've all seen Good Will Hunting. Next week they'll be quoting someone else, with a modified position....

McCain is still going to lose the election, but he is cleaning Obama's clock right now. McCain has him on the defensive all the time so far.

I am sure Obama is going to hit back.

I am actually enjoying watching the expressions of each of them as the other is talking, it's pretty funny!

Between my students and my clients, I have been working non-stop all day.

So don't interpret my silence as resignation.

However, I am tired of BOTH of these guys and their yakkin'. I'm not in the mood tonight...I have a headache.

Whether or not you believe global warming is man-made or a "natural cycle," this is VERY alarming. But what isn't these days?

BARCELONA, Spain (Reuters) - A "deadly dozen" diseases ranging from avian flu to yellow fever are likely to spread more because of climate change, the Wildlife Conservation Society said on Tuesday.

The society, based in the Bronx Zoo in the United States and which works in 60 nations, urged better monitoring of wildlife health to help give an early warning of how pathogens might spread with global warming.

It listed the "deadly dozen" as avian flu, tick-borne babesia, cholera, ebola, parasites, plague, lyme disease, red tides of algal blooms, Rift Valley fever, sleeping sickness, tuberculosis and yellow fever.

"Even minor disturbances can have far reaching consequences on what diseases (wild animals) might encounter and transmit as climate changes," said Steven Sanderson, head of the society.

"The term 'climate change' conjures images of melting ice caps and rising sea levels that threaten coastal cities and nations, but just as important is how increasing temperatures and fluctuating precipitation levels will change the distribution of dangerous pathogens," he said.

"Monitoring wildlife health will help us predict where those trouble spots will occur and plan how to prepare," he said in a statement.

The U.N. Climate Panel says that greenhouse gas emissions, mainly from human use of fossil fuels, are raising temperatures and will disrupt rainfall patterns and have impacts ranging from heatwaves to melting glaciers.

"For thousands of years people have known of a relationship between health and climate," William Karesh of the society told a news conference in Barcelona to launch the report at an International Union for Conservation of Nature congress.

Among phrases, people said they were "under the weather" when ill, he noted.

He said that the report was not an exhaustive list but an illustration of the range of infectious diseases that may threaten humans and animals.

i don't like mccain's health care policy. $5000 is not enough to buy health insurance, those who have will continue having and those who don't will continue to go without. do the math mccain, health insurance costs a lot more than 5 grand a yr.

Then she shouldn't come on and toss out lying bullshit about Sarah Palin. If Jana doesn't like Palin FINE, that is her choice, but to misquote either out of annimosity or wanting to score some kind of point shows ignorance.

Mine is about $1200/year with dental Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois, but its through my employer... and its just me.
First time I've had health insurance since college, too! First time on my own as well... and I admittedly know jack shit about it other than if I get sick I fork over $20 to my PCP.

What about oral herpes?

Oral herpes gets no respect these days.

Anyway, I think we should take the name of every democratically elected or "democratically" elected or democratically "elected" President / Prime Minister / King/ Sultan in the world, toss their names into a hat, and pull out one name.

That guy (or gal) gets to be Supreme Executive Overlord of Earth for five years. Whatever he (or she) says is the law. Anyone who opposes his (or her) will gets sent to the World Penal Colony in Cleveland.

I've never read Daily Kos in my life and don't plan to. I'm tired of being called a liberal when I'm not. I'm a moderate. I'm tired of saying I've voted for the last two Republican governors in my state. I've voted for Republican presidents. I've always respected McCain. So go ahead, label me a liberal without an original thought in my head. Reduce me to that. Nice.

Lula, thank you.
