Nope. I live in Michigan. I'd be willing to a heads-up trade of "hot" governors though. :D

Guys/Gals, I want to make something perfectly clear. Being gay is certainly not a "deal breaker" for me. All kidding aside, if I had a kid that turned out to be gay I would love him/her no less than a normal kid. :P Seriously, it would bother me, but I'm quite sure I'd learn to adapt. There are certainly things I don't like about myself so until I'm perfect (which is certainly imminent  ) I will remain a tolerant person. I think there's a notion that I'm some right wing nut job...I'm not. I had gay friends in college, my best friend's uncle (the coolest dude ever) is gay and I've gone into gay bars, albeit accidentally, without incident.

However, I'd like to pose this question to the liberals. If you're 100% ok with homosexuality because it is between 2 "consenting adults" what are your thoughts on incest? Father grows up, hits 50 and starts railing his 25 year old daughter who has the same feelings for him. 2 "consenting adults"...is this an issue for you guys? :?

Gays can't spawn and multiply (theoretically), Incest is a whole different can of worms that brings in abortion, birth defects and a lot of other issues.

Ok...for the sake of argument they use birth control and/or safe sex. To the liberals here, is this something you would condone?

If there over 18 and they can't make little freaks, I don't give a shit. Cousins were banging each other all the way up to a hundred years ago legally. Don't be surprised if your family tree has some cross patterns when you get back to the 17th and 18th century.

Dopey analogy, Dan. As far as I know, incest is a violation of every state law in the country. I don't know that even the most conservative states in this country have laws that outlaw homosexuality!

Just because something isn't against the law doesn't mean it's right. I'm talking about from a moral standpoint. It's probably not against the law for you and your sister to shove tangerines up each other's asses, but that certainly doesn't make it right in my eyes.

Just curious Dan. How many fruits did you have to visualize until you settled with tangerines????

Saint John, you composed a very nice post and then you had to go and throw in the analogy of an adult father having sex with his twenty-something daughter. Your gay jokes don't bother me. This isn't a PC board. It's when they turned so hateful.

By the way, I'm a moderate, not a liberal. Though liberal these days is sounding good to me. And my gay friend is a Republican. And most of my Republican friends, though conservative regarding their beliefs on government, are tolerant and open-minded. Maybe that's because we live in a cosmopolitan city and it's not the older generation of our parents, and also because there are more gay people out. We have had several lawyers and judges who have been married finally hit an age where they don't want to live a lie anymore in my hometown. One judge committed suicide because he felt he shamed the family name. It was very sad.

I agree with John, homosexuality is not a choice and most grow up living with such self-hatred and shame knowing they are different. I guess they should all get married to someone of the opposite sex so we're all more comfortable, and live a miserable and tortured existence. My friend tried that, and he became an alcoholic until he could come to terms with it.

As far as perverts, I work in the court system, and, believe me, most of the sick, perverted things that are done to children are done by heterosexual family members or so-called friends of the family. There's a lot of bad people in this world who are homosexual and heterosexual. It's not exclusive to sexual orientation.

Just like the straight "Christian" people that beat Matthew Shepard to death because he was gay.

Just like the assholes who beat up, RAPED, and shot Teena Brandon.

Because they both "deserved" what they got?

Avon Lake, OH - a west suburb of Cleveland is where I grew up and where my parents live

I'm in my senior year of college at Allegheny in Meadville, PA, a podunk (but lovable) college town in Northwestern PA.

Planning on moving back to Cleveland with a buddy and attending law school and working after I graduate in May...

Go ahead and rip on Cleveland, I love it

You could look at him and know. But he never acted on it and struggled and went to church and prayed. But he finally admitted it now in his thirties. He fears he waited too long to admit it, even to himself, to find happiness. His parents are very religious, but love him no less. He's a tremendous person and son. You don't have to agree with it, but you don't need to be so hateful. :(

I like Dan. I think he's a good dude. I've just never agreed with his homophobic statements on here. I happen to be the father of a 2 year old boy, and my wish would never be for him to be gay. That said, it would never change my relationship with him, nor would it change the deep love and affection that I have for him. I happen to be disgustingly heterosexual, but have really never understood "gay bashing". I can tell you that I never took any classes on liking women. It just sort of happened.

The one thing I can't help but notice when it comes to one's political leanings are that most conservatives want the entire world to be exactly like they are, which would be fucking boring! They also seem to want most of society to strictly adhere to their morals and beliefs. Liberals tend to just let people live their lives, and make whatever choices they believe to be right for them. For the record, I don't believe (nor have I ever believed) that being gay is a choice. I don't believe that anyone would willingly choose a lifestyle that they know is going to ostracize them from society.

Hey...I'm okay with pissing people off over "Generations". I've never been the most popular guy with the Augeri crowd on Jackass Talk, or here! Most of his fans have always annoyed the hell out of me, so it's sort of fun to get under their skin  I'm still pissed off and offended that my favorite band put out the disaster that was "Generations"! Thanks for getting my blood pressure up, again.
