Not in Illinois. One of the local stations has a report about non-citizens voting in the election.

Whilst you raise this one heres another one which pisses me off really big time.....and Im close to it because I live overseas.

Dems are registering people overseas who are american citizens through their parents citizenship but who have never
upheld their responsibilties as citzens, never set foot in the USA, dont follow current events in the USA, dont give a fuck basically except that they hate bush.

If you are an American overseas you are required by law to file your taxes with the iRS every year and pay if you owe (and that includes AMT) Of course none of these people registering to vote have never followed that law. How is it that they can get away with violating a law but yet still expect to vote in a federal election??

Anyone seen the report in the NY Post about Obama's donations site not having the AVS turned on? So there is no way to verify who is using the card, so that a person could possibly give multiple $200 donations over and over and over again in violation of campaign finance laws, in addition FORIEGN donations can be made this way and not tracked as well?

With decent polling, you know exactly how many votes you have to import, how many you have to fabricate, and how many you have to suppress. It sounds like that's exactly what they did to Hillary during the primary. It's just disheartening to know that she took this in such a spineless manner as to not jeopardize her political career in the future. What a piece of backbone-lacking trash.

PS I still say that, with the exception of the military, voting should only be done only on election day. If American fucking Idol can vote seamlessly in one day so can the government. Well, except for Broward county.

And you know...McCain and Russ Fiengold try, with the best of intentions to reform our fucked up campaign finanace system...but we all know what road is paved with the best of intentions...

The law should just be: All cadidates for Federal Office must turn in all contribution recieved prior to their conventions to the government, and then they each receive a flat, EQUAL, sum to use. The excess from the donations goes into a coffer for the next election cycle.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A federal judge in Ohio has ruled that counties must allow homeless voters to list park benches and other locations that aren't buildings as their addresses.

U.S. District Judge Edmund Sargus also ruled that provisional ballots can't be invalidated because of poll worker errors.

Again...I want all LEGAL votes counted...but in the interest of being "fair" we are allowing fraud to happen.

Personally, I think we need something closer to the middle - between democracy and representative republic. We obviously can't trust the 'people' to know what's best in EVERY circumstance. We need order. But, our current system is bad also....the people HARDLY have a voice. So i think something needs to be done to shift the power to the middle. Get the average joe involved a bit more in the decision making in government. IMHO.

They need to get rid of early voting. This is a joke.

Why?

The reason we have election day on a Tuesday is way way way back, way back before the Chicago Fire, the San Francisco earthquake, way back to the horse and buggy days. People wouldn't vote on the Sabbath, and due to not so expedient travel back then, a standard trip to the polling place took an entire day. So it's been on a Tuesday ever since.

Now, some say, well, vote on a non workday. What is a non workday? People work every day. So we vote on Saturday. No, that favors the rich and wealthy as generally the less fortunate work service jobs which are open on weekends. So what if there is early voting? What does it hurt? You still only get one vote only.

That's a good question....and I cannot come up with a viable answer. The integrity of the election process must be tantamount. Perhaps all eligible voters register one time with some form of government ID, their face then scanned into a central database and verified at the polling place with facial recognition software. That would negate the need to even check ID's then.

Yea, that's a big pain in the ass, expensive and has big brother written all over it.

You also have deal with absentee ballots. Perhaps registered voters can be given a unique voter ID. When the ballot is turned in, that ID is checked against a national database to ensure that ID hasn't been used already and also cross referenced with the social security death index.

The vast majority of the loopholes can be closed with technology but would we want to go that far and would we want to give the government that kind of data?
