I think the band won't do another tour as big as Revelation and will slow down quite a bit over the next few years, maybe hitting the Casino circuit. Would they feel the need to go out there full time if they saw Perry having success on the road. Would they see that as their potential audience going to an alternative source since they weren't doing as many shows?

They've been doing the casino circut up here (Canada) already. Been to CasinoRama a couple of times, (and NO, I did not see them). If Steve were to go that route it would be fine with me. Better venues, sound, etc. I'm not interested in the big stadiums anymore. Too old to be herded into those places like cattle.

Don't casinos pay out more anyway, smaller crowds but higher gross for the artists?

I believe they do. You pay more for the show, but the quality is better from an audience point of view. Like shows in Vegas. And don't forget the 3 drinks included with your ticket purchase.

Just let me say that Russ Miller is one of the most in demand studio drummers in the world and he'd have no freakin' reason to make stuff up.

Maybe he shouldn't have slipped, but he'd have nothing to gain by lying.

I was thinking about this. Perry played those demos for Lora and Cyndi quite a while ago. Did they have session work on them to go with his vocals. If he did have outside players on those demos , it's pretty remarkable that none of them ever mentioned it enough to get put on the web. Maybe they sign a confidentiality agreement for session work.

I was a cryptologist in the US Navy- what was known as an "R brancher" and could copy morse code at 50 groups per minute at 95 percent accuracy. I could simultaneously listen to a baseball game in one ear, listen to morse code with the other ear, receive a blow job from a girl, enjoy all three activities whilst accurately capturing and typing the morse code.

did me alot of good in life because now.......I spend my days n nights on MELODIC ROCK DOT COM bullshittin the time away arguing with people who claim they saw Steve Perry in their orange Jello!

Well we had an 8 week school the first four weeks of which consisted of spending 6 hours a day doing nothing but copying Morse code off tapes. Then we had have a chief petty officer standing over us saying "Pass these code tests or you cant be a crypto and we will have to give you a job as a boatswains mate (the guys on the ship who did nothing but hang off the side of the ship painting it and all the other crap jobs) We were so scared of that fate, we soon learned to copy morse code fast and accurately. Morse code is like music, once you get the rhythm you just rock along to it.

Are we talking House Of Blues or Staples Center type venues? HOB-yes, Staples-no.

That's a bit of a jump between a 1,500 seater and an 18,000 seater venue. How about a 5,000 seater?

Who do you think would provide support act?

Steve Perry wouldn't fill an 18,000 venue act. Maybe in Las Vegas he could. He's been gone too long for a solo tour that big. Many people don't really know him. If he toured with Journey again, it would be HUGE, though.

I think people would know him. KLOS in Los Angeles, who did what amounted to a boycott of Revelation, would have the news all over here in SoCal. Even if he doesn't do Journey songs, people will go to the show anyway , expecting him to, sort of like new fans at Journey shows this last tour, expecting them to play more then three songs off of Revelation. It didn't happen, but people still went to the shows, hoping it would.

Why did KLOS essentially boycott Revelation?

The Perry PR machine is as good as gets. My guess is that the blurb was there to catch some attention and the edit was done to catch more attention. Pretty smart if you ask me.

I know you'll probably laugh at this, but if Perry tours (insert Dan's laughter), how many shows are you going to attend?

Honestly , they just have a huge hardon for Steve. Even at the pre-concert tailgate show at the Greek, they played Departure instead of Revelation. I don't really know why, maybe because Perry is local and they all have met him, maybe Neal got busted banging the station managers wife, I really don't know.

I still don't see what changed? He said he's working with Steve Perry. What does it matter which way he says it? Russ has no reason to lie. He may have let a little too much slip, but the fact is the fact.

It's hilarious that some so called "fans" on this forum seem to be ROOTING that this isn't gonna happen.

I'm telling you, IT IS. The PR machine is starting to turn. I can see being disillusioned because something hasn't happend when you wish it did, but to actively wish negativity and that it won't happen, shows people who aren't really fans. They're just getting off on being negative.

It doesn't... but if he hadn't "accidentally on purpose" said way too much, then why scramble like hell to change it?
If nothing was wrong or lines hadn't been stepped over, why not leave it as is?

I think someone told him to watch what he says, is all. As if to say, you can say you worked with SP, just don't mention a record. If he's releasing one, he'll want it to be made public in his own way.
