It was changed because while Steve clearly is working on new material (WONDERFUL), there remains at this time, no deal in place or any plans to release it.

He is clearly working away until he is happy with what he has come up with and that could take any length of time.

Wonderful news indeed, but don't expect a new studio album just yet.

BTW - I swapped some e-mails with certain folks that confirms this.

I can guarantee you that anyone working with Perry already knows the "do's and dont's." This "leak" was intentional.

Because they're pussies.

Honestly , they just have a huge hardon for Steve. Even at the pre-concert tailgate show at the Greek, they played Departure instead of Revelation. I don't really know why, maybe because Perry is local and they all have met him, maybe Neal got busted banging the station managers wife, I really don't know.

When Journey toured last year, which Revelation songs were in their setlist?

Jesus, my heart is beating like a bunny. What great news Andrew. Was there any sort of indication if anything might becoming out this year?

Maybe this is Perry's way of testing the water. Watch the flurry of peeps and gadge things from there?

I remember how excited we all were when he released FTLOSM. This will be much more exciting.

I heard NWA as bumper music on the Mark and Brian show, I think their producer was messing with them because they joked about it. That was the last time I heard a song from Revelation on the radio. That was June.
From the look of Journey's concert setlist, they appeared to be boycotting the album also, as they never played more than 3 or 4 songs off it on any given night.

They usually played anywhere from 3-5 songs a night, including Never Walk Away, Change for the Better, Wildest Dream, Faith in the Heartland, After All These Years, Where Did I Lose Your Love (only once or twice), and Revelation.

I never had a problem with him sharing info that he felt was right, it was the WE'LL SEE that made people irritated. But that was all it was, just irritation. I hope he is right. And I would gladly say way to go for sticking to his guns in the face of adversity. I especially admire the humility we all know and love him for.........

Am I the only one that's disappointed with this report? We're basically at square one. We already knew he had been "collaborating" with people for the last few years. An album may take a few more years to come out, if one even comes out at all.

I never posted anything "just to be right", only as a huge fan that was thrilled the greatest voice of our time felt like it was time to give to us again.
While I was bashed and personally attacked here, I tried to never get personal back. I understood the once bitten hesitation of the past and tried to roll with it.

I was then and am still positive now, that the man was/is working on new material. I also believe it's much, much farther along than you think, actually having more than enough for a complete new album, almost completely done.

I feel somewhat vindicated, but more so, just kinda sad that I had to have such static and really downright meaness thrown at me. I know being a new poster and bringing what I thought to be factual info ruffled some feathers of long time forum members, but it wasn't my intention. I was/am just an excited fan being thrilled with the fact that we're gonna hear new material from the person who has touched my life more than anyone outside of my family.

For those that still think it won't happen, it's OK, hearing will be believing, but for those of us that are willing to accept the fact that The Voice is definetely working/has worked on new material, just bask in all the glory that is his musical genius and gift. No matter exactly when we get it, the bottom line is............................. WE'RE FREAKIN' GETTING IT!

WE'RE ALL GONNA SEE...................AND HEAR.

I've done [the movies] Chicken Little, Resident Evil Apocalypse, Silent Hill and Lakeview Terrace, where I'm doing all of the drums and percussion here. Right now I'm working on Steve Perry's album. It's not even a question anymore; everybody comes here. I'll go out on the road and come back, and there will be sessions waiting to happen, and I try to turn them around in a timely manner.

I wonder if they are talking about the Steve Perry we are discussing? :o :D   :) :D :D :D

I don't know. You gotta wonder if Perry just wants to make music just to make music and doesn't even care to release it to the public.

Madsplash, I will say I am sorry for my part in giving you a hard time. But I was not trying to be mean to you, I was just trying to get you to not come across so inflated that the barbs on the loons would get you. Tough love so to speak. I hope you are right, I think we all would almost camp out for this album if we could.

Yeah, not sure what news this is except a confirmation (maybe) that was already given by those that had lunch with him and heard the demos. Obviously he has been working on stuff, but that has nothing to do with it actually being released. Not trying to be a downer either..just practical given the guys history. Which is all any of us have to go on.

Just as a courtesy to our excited female members, tests show that energizer batteries outlast Duracell by 30% and Eveready by 45%.
