Hi all, first time posting here...
all I can say is wow...new stuff from steve perry....now THAT is cool...after all these years :D

Welcome! I hope we get to hear it! :)

Do you really think that all these "leaks" are accidents? He's testing the water I tell ya.

I truly think Miller just spouted off the info. I don't think there's any conspiracy like some people have said. I certainly hope the collection of music Perry has put together becomes an album on the ipod and in the car one day, but I'm not getting my hopes up until I see it.

Agreed on all points.

It's really hard to stop smiling right now.

For the few remaining neysayers, if this is just the same news that C&L reported a year ago, why would one of the world's top session drummers say that he has been working on new stuff with SP? If he had done that more than a year ago, why would he suddenly remember it now?

I'm not trying to be arrogant, I just don't want to hear anything negative or cynical to try and bring me down off of this high.

Is it possible that none of this new material will ever be released? Of course. But like my Magic 8 ball said in the 1970's....................

All SIGNS POINT TO YES!

I'm still betting on at least 1 high profile duet and at least one apperance on American Idol for promotion. I could be off, but time will tell.

I'll shut up now, but I've gotta say it once more for now....................................................................................................................

Deb would be one happy camper! Eric Martin just put out a CD, JSS' CD/DVD comes out in February and if something comes out from Perry too, there'll be no shuttin' me up! :D

Jesus, my heart is beating like a bunny. What great news Andrew. Was there any sort of indication if anything might becoming out this year?

Absolutely NO indication of a timeframe for anything to be released. Just some work in progress. Keeping busy. Good things to hear, but definitely no confirmation 2009 would be the year. Hope so, but not yet....

Sorry, I don't think there's an album being put out. Just like Rob Dickinson wrote with him this summer, he's writing and all that stuff b/c he likes to, and is thinking about it and enjoying the process, as he's probably done at other times in the past 10 years or so. But will it ever see the light of day? I still say at best 50/50, and if so, definitely not any time soon. It would be nice to be proven wrong, but . . . . . . just sayin' .

The hell with Steve Perry...Okay, I don't mean it and take it back! I do get frustrated with his highly eccentric ass though. Quit being a baby-back-bitch and release something already! Damn...at the rate he's going, he's gonna be dead before the release date and his fucking cat is going to get all of the royalties!

The funny thing here is how you people will take one little tidbit of info, and turn it into an 11 page thread! How many other musicians have we heard that are "working on Steve Perry's new album"??? I can recall at least 4 or 5 times over the last few years. I'm thinking that he just likes to have new demos to show off to his friends, but we'll never hear the damn things. JMHO!

What do you expect? We get at least a 5 page thread every time a Journey song plays anywhere on Earth. Of course the "Perry is lurking in studios!" threads are going to haywire. I do agree with you though. The first time I heard he might be working on something I probably peed a little. I've since learned to control the flow and I'll save it in case there's ever a full on four alarm album release emergency. *yawn* Wake me up when Perry himself has something to say about this.   That's funny as hell!  I'm with you though (all the while, building this damn thread bigger! ), if there's gonna be a release...every mofo on the planet is gonna hear about it first, because any record company that signs him is gonna want the most bang out of their bucks! They're gonna want to sell as many albums as possible, so as soon as he's getting even semi-close with an album, we'll have heard it officially. My 32 cents worth!

The MINORITY of negativity is hilarious. Right up till the last second, you're gonna fight it, huh? OK, OK.

Steve probably hired Russ Miller and is paying him triple scale(which is what the top guys make) just to listen to it himself  .

Hell, SP can play drums himself well enough to do that.

It just takes some people to get hit over the head with a club before they get it. Don't worry, a club with your name on it is coming. I don't know the exact title of the club yet, but you'll know it when it smacks you in your Dorito Chute.

New material from Perry is akin to the recently released Chinese Democracy by Guns 'n Roses. That was something like a 15 year wait and the last 5 of those years were after most of the album was leaked in demo form. By my reckoning it will be at least another few years before Perry releases anything by which time the state of the economy will probably have forced CD retailers off the high street and Perry will have jumped the shark in terms of actual record sales.

Or he could actually release something this year, which would be great...unless it's a figurative bag of sh!te of course! Flaming Perry and his teasing!

I've figured it out . You are Russ Miller. You planted the story for publicity. :P

By the way, you stated ABSOLUTELY Steve Perry was releasing new music in the YEAR 2009. What happens if it isn't 2009? Then you're still wrong.

Hell, SP can play drums himself well enough to do that.

It just takes some people to get hit over the head with a club before they get it. Don't worry, a club with your name on it is coming. I don't know the exact title of the club yet, but you'll know it when it smacks you in your Dorito Chute.

I can't say person for person who's being a Debbie Downer in your nutcan, but dude, seriously... WE GET IT. I can say though, the overall feeling on this board in response to your posts is not pounding your rainbow and saying you're wrong. We're just saying shut the fuck up about it already, who cares. Or even better... if this is going to be your "thing" then at LEAST contribute somehow, someway to the board other than shoving your special knowledge of Perry's release (handed down by your sister's father's cousin's mechanic's former roommate's janitor) down our throats in every post. (And none of this "don't read it if it bothers you" shit... at this point its just flat out spam.) I'm sure you're a fabulous person, I don't know you, I won't judge you... but I can say as far as this board goes, you're a troll.

Aside from the cracked-out Spoons, we're all pretty neutral to this story either way... yes, we hope it's true, but we're not going to shit the bed if we're let down again. So your "WE'LL SEE" shtick kind of neuters itself. And I'm not the type to go off on anyone, but this is overkill ad nauseum et infinitum.

Steve probably hired Russ Miller and is paying him triple scale(which is what the top guys make) just to listen to it himself  .

I've figured it out . You are Russ Miller. You planted the story for publicity. :P

By the way, you stated ABSOLUTELY Steve Perry was releasing new music in the YEAR 2009. What happens if it isn't 2009? Then you're still wrong.

Who knows? My brain is toast thinking about all of it. I'd be stunned if he releases something in 2009, but I sure am hoping he does. Is there anybody that's not? :)
