So it WAS the laughy gal. Wow, I couldn't believe she got through the audition process. She gave me the willies. Just way too "off". Those people must have to come through metal detectors and stuff. I mean, Simon (though I usually agree with him) has pissed off SO many people... the security there must be huge.

I edited my post.
Saw the links immediately after I'd posted.

I'm listening to the acoustic one now. I like.

The crazy laughing girl wasn't voted through, she was given a wildcard place by the judges.
She pissed Simon off by singing "Saving All My Love For You" on every show she appeared on.

But she seems to have made some kind of connection with Paula. Maybe they are from the same planet?

Paula was telling her she will succeed as a singer and that she's going to be an actress, too.
Then they kept squealing at each other.

Studdard- WHAT did people see in THAT guy?? Another guy that shouldn't have won.

Ruben Studdard was THE best vocalist of that particular AI class. Yes, Clay Aiken kicked his head in after the show in record sales, but that has more to do with poor decision making on Studdards part (i.e. going into gospel music - he may as well have gone into the witness protection program) and a legion of screaming 14 yr old "Clay-mates" on Aikens part.

He can be so accurate and yet he can be such a jerk.

Last week he didn't even recognise a Bruce Hornsby song.
He seems to have no musical knowledge whatsoever.
Which is weird considering what he does for a living.

And his haircut looks like the head of a brown bear.

That's what I'm saying it's a very unusual crush for me to have. B/c his hair, his shirts, man boobs, uh, not so good. But there's just something about him that's utterly charming. What can I say? Doesn't make sense. Doesn't everybody have an odd crush that isn't really their type?

He didn't even know the Michael Jackson song that the blind (is he totally blind? I only watched last night for the first time) kid played on piano, and he was really good.

The blind guy is the one who did Mandolin Rain by Bruce Hornsby last week.
Simon had no clue.

He only seems to be interested in artists like Leona Lewis.
And I dread to think what his CD collection contains.
And those turtleneck pants he wears are ridiculous!

He can take a joke, though. So I kinda like him.

Absolutely.
I rather like Michael Palin from Monty Python.
And I have always taken a fancy to Mike Rutherford from Genesis even though he is so very very posh and plays Bridge and probably drinks gin & tonics served by his Butler. I could get used to that though.

Nope.
His musical knowledge is really lacking IMO.

And yes he does like girls who are like Leona.
He used to date Sinitta and then he just split from Terri Seymour. If you google them you'll see he goes for a certain type.

I know Leona can sing but if you watch her on stage she appears to have no stage craft or stage presence. She just stands there with her knees together and bends forward.
I like a bit more showmanship from my singers than that, but Simon doesn't seem to think that is important.
I doubt he'd recognise a Journey song either.
That's what I don't like about him. He doesn't know much about music really.
And the fact that he calls some contestants 'lounge acts' as if that is a terrible crime.
Sinatra, Peggy Lee, Nat Cole and Ella Fitzgerald were arguably 'lounge acts' - and I think they were pretty good!

I think thats him. Hair's a little different there [but when the show opened in London he had the same cut as Adam now has] - but yeah.

But they should cast Adam in that role right now if they have any sense. He's perfect for the role.

This Adam guy is severly gay, not that there is anything wrong with that. ;)

http://poponthepop.com/2009/03/02/adam- ... d-in-drag/

I like his voice, but his higher register sounds very screamy/wimpy and his big ol tounge goes all over the place when he squelches those high notes. At first I liked him because he looked like a young elvis type of guy, but then his voice didn't sound very strong, his theatrics on stage seemed over the top, it all makes sense now if you check out the above link.

That is not the guy. That is Tony Vincent, who originated the role of Galileo in We Will Rock You in London (he is American). I saw him in a short lived revival of Jesus Christ Superstar in the early 2000s. I think he is currently touring America in a tour of Dirty Dancing. GREAT ROCK VOICE, but not Adam Lambert!

I think the dude will go far. He may be a little fruity, but he's got the chops. Check this one out:

it will come down to adam and danny

adam is far more seasoned in more ways than one and should win. we all know if you have done stage your gay as a naked french fry. Who cares, he still kicks ass. I bet my gay cousin is drooling over the dude AND SHOVING western family hot dogs up his rear while watching idol with bright black lipstick.

we all knew clay was aiken for gay.

Agreed! Looks a lot like him, kind of a punkish version. Not near as good as Michael vocally though IMO......MS is in my top 10 favorite voices easily. Love the operatic quality and tone of his voice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIkchk19GV8

What do you think to Alison Iraheta, Wixy?

I thought she had an impressive voice for such a young kid.

Adam, Danny and Alison are my top three. I am really enjoying all their performances.
