OT - Don't chuck Chuck!

Postby StoneCold » Tue Apr 21, 2009 2:13 pm

Due to Leno moving up to 10pm, Chuck might get bounced. There's a groundswell of support for Chuck to survive to a third season.

If you're a fan of this show, here's one of the links:

http://www.givememyremote.com/remote/be ... ave-chuck/

Wouldn't hurt to drop a postcard to:

NBC Chuck
c/o Ben Silverman
3000 W Alameda Ave
Burbank, CA 91523

Angela Bromstad
100 Universal City Plaza
Building 1320, 4th Floor
Universal City, CA 91608

One of the many reasons to keep the show on the air is Yvonne Strahovski.

You're such a romantic, Stevie-Woo
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Absolutely LOVE this show! I think this show could stay on for years upon years! Move Chuck to a new day if you have to, but don't cancel the show just because Jay Leno wants his prime time show. I don't even like Jay Leno that much anyways. TV needs more shows like Chuck! It makes my Monday nights complete! I can watch Chuck @ 8, then switch over to 24 @ 9! The only reasons why I like Mondays!

I like that new show Castle. It has that classic sexual tension thing going on.

thank god.

NBC has the worst shows now except Medium. They could run dateline everynight and no one would care.

Watched 3rd Rock from the Sun last night on TVLAND... now that was a sitcom!!

Once in a while a show comes along that not only is popular but develops a cult following that lasts. Quantum Leap was like that. Quirky, funny while still touching some dramatic topics.

Chuck while sometimes campy (the Nerd Herd  ) is one of these shows. It has the advantage over QL of having more characters to bounce off of. TV is pretty drab now so its rare to have a night I actually look forward to watching something. Monday's that night and only because of Chuck.

I haven't seen Castle yet so can't comment but from the previews, the female lead looks like she could be interesting.

Leno, bleh, bumped off TTS 'cause of Conan? I miss Johnny Carson so both these guys can leave TV for all I care. Letterman's a jerk but his show's better. Better set, setup and Paul Schaffer's always good for a laugh.

Good AV btw. :)

Absolutely, on both counts. But NCIS is in no danger...
At least Eli Stone's final 4 episodes will be aired Saturday nights at 10PM starting the 3rd week of June. But I LOVE that show.

It's my favorite show since Boston Legal was cancelled. Sharp writing, great stories, top notch acting, and superb chemistry.

Yvonne Strahovski is amazing.

Castle's great, too. Chuck features Firefly alumni Adam Baldwin (great actor) and Castle features Firefly star Nathan Fillion. Two awesome shows.

I'm surprised it's up for cancellation, I thought a lot of people liked it. Fuck Leno. I stopped watching Chuck early this season because it never went anywhere, but it'll still be a tragedy if it has to go because of Leno.

You've been missing out Sarah, the last 3 episodes were gold. Scott Bakula in as Chuck's dad, nuff said.

And I'm not romantic by nature, but the chemistry between Zachary Levi's character and Yvonne's is heartwarming.

She's the best actor on the show. Since her role as spy prohibits her from divulging any real emotion, she has to communicate with her eyes and face (and what a face! :) ). Chuck on the other hand can be a little too puppy doggish but maybe he's trying to convey immaturity.

The one where John Casey got hot and bothered for the tough spy chick was cool. They were getting turned on by strapping on guns.

It's cute but rather...formulaic. Fillion has always been solid, but I think the show needs....more.

To me, it has a "been, there, done that" kind of feeling.

Casey's my favorite character, actually. They're all three close to my heart, but Casey's a serious badass. Adam Baldwin rocks.

Chuck is great television. The business of television sucks however. Let's bring on another cop show - yeah just what we need. Chuck is refreshing and fun and deserves a third season. Check it out on NBC online.

Series finale is tonight - tune in even if you've never watched before. It's easy to get right into and it's one of the best shows on tv.

It's not up for cancellation, but rather, it's "on the bubble" meaning no one knows its fate - whether canceled or renewed.

For it: The network's ratings in general suck; the show isn't that expensive , it's got good PVR numbers, it's got critical success, decent ratings with key demographics and the network loves the show.

Against it: it's in one of the toughest time slots in prime time, ratings have been fairly steady (not really sinking but not really growing either); it's produced by Warner (so NBC doesn't share in DVD sales, international sales).

It could go either way.

In truth, I was more surprised that HEROES (which isn't pulling off much better ratings, is way more expensive and has been sagging) was renewed early!

We'll find out for sure next month. It's in the same boat as Sarah Connor Chronicles and Dollhouse, though I think Chuck has a better chance.
